Lee Jun Ki Promises to Become a Sincere Actor After Winning at “2013 APAN Star Awards”
On November 17, actor Lee Jun Kiposted a status on his Twitter, “I promise to become a sincere and good actor. Bravo ‘Two Weeks.’ Yes, yes. I’ve put on display my 40th award- ‘best actor’ award. It really does shine,” along with photos of him and his trophy.
On November 16, at the Daejeon drama festival’s award ceremony, “2013 APAN Star Awards,” the actor won the best leading actor award for his performance in the recent MBC drama, “Two Weeks.”

Ooh, this is good news. It’s not finalized, so let’s all start wishing on stars and things.
It looks like I jumped the gun (…badum-ching) when I heard Han Joo-wan was cast as a lead in Joseon Gunman and thought that meant he was THE lead. Apologies for the error; that was totally my fault. But I don’t think it’s any bit of a disappointment to hear that Lee Jun-ki is in contention to take that lead role—of a young man in Joseon times who loses his father and sister and takes up the gun in revenge—because YES PLEASE. YES NOW. *grabby hands*
Joseon Gunman would put Lee Jun-ki back in familiar sageuk territory; some of his biggest hits have been historical projects, from the record-breaking film The King and the Clown that catapulted him to fame, to the popular hit Iljimae, to the underrated, sweet-with-a-dark-touch gem of a drama Arang and the Magistrate.
Coming from the PD of The Princess’s Man, this drama is set a little later into Joseon’s five-century span, taking place in the 19th century during a time of much modernization and growth. Aside from Lee Jun-ki and Han Joo-wan, another name in the mix as a potential castmate is actress Jeon Hye-bin (Queen of the Office, Queen Dowager Insoo), but no word yet on the role.
Joseon Gunman will be KBS’s Wednesday-Thursday drama following Golden Cross, and premieres in June.
And while no much other information is given about the story than the main tagline about our hero throwing away the sword and exchanging it for a gun, you know, I’m gonna go ahead and get excited anyway. Because remember this?
Lee Jun Ki Considering Sageuk Drama “The Joseon Gunman”
Actor Lee Jun Ki may be making a return to historical dramas after two years! His last sageuk drama was MBC’s “Arang and the Magistrate” in 2012.
Lee Jun Ki has been offered the lead role in KBS 2TV’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama “The Joseon Gunman” (working title), which is scheduled to be broadcast in the second half of the year.
According to a broadcasting representative, “Lee Jun Ki’s side is communicating positively with us. Although a formal contract has yet to be signed, it is highly likely that Lee Jun Ki will be the lead of this drama.”
The representative added that Lee Jun Ki has successive hits with each of his sageuk projects, from “The King and the Clown,” “Iljimae,” to “Arang and the Magistrate,” and that fans will welcome his appearance in another sageuk. Filming for “The Joseon Gunman” is likely to begin in mid-April.
Meanwhile, Lee Jun Ki’s new agency, Namoo Actors, has stated, “We have received the proposal and are considering the role, but it is still too early to talk about his appearance.”
“The Joseon Gunman” is set in 19th century Joseon, and tells the story of Joseon’s greatest swordsman who ditches the sword and is reborn as a gunslinger following the death of his father and younger sister. The role that Lee Jun Ki received is for the lead character Park Yoon Kang. The drama will also depict the confusion and conflict, courage and pain experienced by the youth of the enlightenment era.
“The Joseon Gunman” will be directed by PD Kim Jung Man (“The Princess’ Man”) and co-written by Lee Jung Woo (“Legend of the Patriots”) and Han Hee Jung (“Missing Case of National Assembly Member Jung Chi Sung”).
Actor Han Joo Wan has already confirmed his role as Kim Ho Kyung in “The Joseon Gunman.” The drama will follow after “Golden Cross” (which airs after “Age of Feeling”) and has a broadcast date set for the end of June.
Actor Lee Joongi has decided to take the role in 'Choseon Gunman', a new Wed-Thu drama of KBS 2 TV which is scheduled to be aired in mid June.
According to a concerned person in broadcasting, LJG has met the production team and came to the final agreement on his appearance before he finished costume fitting at the broadcasting station. (roughly translation by Elly)

Lee Jun Ki and Jeon Hye Bin are confirmed to be dating. The Namoo Actors labelmates confirmed the consistent dating rumors are in fact true.

On April 4, Namoo Actors confirmed, "Lee Jun Ki and Jeon Hye Bin met as co-stars in a drama in 2013, and when the dating rumors first started, they were just good friends. However, their relationship progressed into more in early 2016. They have a lot in common as friends and became interested in each other romantically. They wanted to be sure about their feelings, and they are now carefully dating."
The two stars previously worked together in the drama 'Joseon Gunman' (2014) and denied 3 dating rumors since then. It seems with the latest rumor making headlines along with photos from Dispatch, they've decided to go public with their relationship. Congrats to the couple!
