I love da vinci code too, angels & demon dah baca jugak, cuma tak beli.. tapi rasanya tak sebest da inci.. buku dia yang lain kurang minat sikit nak baca..
Thorn birds memang best, love it sooo much.. classic..
Yang Leo Toltoy tu, Anna Karennina, Oprah Book Club, saja nak cube..hmm.. tapi belum start.. wish I have more time.. War and Peace? Too thick, too intimidating... :stp:

My James Petterson book tu, I think sama genre dengan that suzanne letter to Nicholas, I haven't read that yet. Yang the one I got tu, IMO tak best sangat.. bought it on my birthday at MPH, actually was searching for suzanne tu, since tak ada, I just bought that one sebab dapat discount..

Sorry nak sikit ! Absolutely true. The late Ninoy Aquino had a copy of War and Peace while being imprisoned by Marcos. I wonder if he ever completed reading it |

All I could remember about the movie was it was a Russian production and I didn't recognize any of the stars. I found out that there was one epic production(1968). I saw it in the 70s. It must be the same one. Here it is for your benefit:
"Russian director Sergei Bondarchuk's epic version of Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace (Voyna i Mir) may well be the most expensive film ever made. It certainly had one of the longest gestation periods, with Bondarchuk spending seven years filming the project (the actors noticeably age from scene to scene). In relating Tolstoy's complex tale of Napoleon's invasion of Russia, Bondarchuk helmed some of the most graphic battle scenes ever seen, one of which runs nearly 45 minutes. So many horses were killed in these sequences that the film was loudly boycotted in some American cities by the ASPCA. While Bondarchuk is slavish to the source material, he does make a few Hollywood-like concessions to popular appeal; his leading lady Lyudmila Savelyeva looks exactly like Audrey Hepburn, the star of King Vidor's 1956 filmization of the Tolstoy novel. Originally clocking in at 507 minutes(that's 8.5hrs), War and Peace was pared down to 373 minutes(that's 6.2hrs) for American consumption. Perhaps this was the mini series you mentioned??
I also liked the earlier Hollywood production with Audry Hepburn, Henry Ford and Mel Ferrer....great lineup lor! :cak::cak: Somehow it became overshadowed by the Russian one later.

Ni kat rumah aku. banyak bawak balik kampung kasi ayah aku lak baca. susun depan & belakang jugak.
