Guess who is running away in Reema Kagti's debut film HONEYMOON TRAVEL PVT. LTD.? It's none other than Diya Mirza who is the better half of one of the couples who comes for a honeymoon in the film!

She revealed the secret about her story when she mentioned that while she is married to Ranvir Shorey and arrives for her honeymoon, she instead runs with; guess what, Arjun Rampal, who does a special appearance in the film.

Bollywood is flooded with beautiful "Sen" girls, whether it is Ria Sen, Rimmi Sen, Raima Sen or Reema Sen.

Though first three of the aforementioned girls had at least a HIT each against their names, it was only Reema Sen who was lagging behind. Now finally she has managed to deliver a HIT, and that too in style, in the form of MALAMAAL WEEKLY, which is this year's second bonafide SUPERHIT after 'Rang De Basanti'.

After a flurry of flops with heroes like Fardeen Khan [Hum Ho Gaye Aapke], Sunny Deol [Jaal - The Trap], Amar Upadhyay [Jodi Kya Banayi Wah Wah Ramji] and an item number in Madhur Bhandarkar's 'Aan - Men At Work', she has tasted success by pairing with Riteish Deshmukh in 'Malamaal Weekly'.

Agreed that the film's plot didn't revolve around her, but then a HIT is after all a HIT!

Guess what has become fashionable these days? To underplay one's role in a movie, especially if it's a tiny-winy one!

Sunny Deol did it recently in case of 'Teesri Aankh' when he declared to the world that he merely played a guest appearance in the Harry Baweja film, when the fact was that he did have a significant part to play. Probably he did have an intuition about the poor prospects of the movie and hence chose to underplay his presence in the film.

Now Bipasha Basu choses to go the same path for upcoming 'Humko Deewana Kar Gaye', which is rather surprising since the movie has all it takes to be a big hit at the box office. The songs are popular while vintage Raj Kanwar touch is clearly visible, especially in the dramatic portions. Bipasha is miffed about the fact that she is being promoted as a leading heroine in the film when the fact is that she merely has a small guest appearance. She insists that audience shouldn't come to the theatres thinking it's an Akshay-Bipasha film because the reality if that HDKG is more of an Akshay-Katrina film.

Looking at all this mayhem, one's heart goes out to one gentleman called Salman Khan who has been keeping quiet about his 'Saawan - The Love Season' that releases this week. This Saawan Kumar film too has Salman in a special appearance [he appears just before the interval to stay on till the end] while the entire publicity of the film has been thrust upon his shoulders. Now that's being 'yaaron ka yaar'!

Producer Sohail Maklai is looking forward to his first film Cash. The film directed by Anubhav Sinha is set to roll on April 12.

The cast includes- Ajay Devgan, Zayed Khan, Arjun Rampal, Riteish Deshmukh, Esha Deol and Shamita Shetty. The music will be by Vishal-Shekhar. Cash is an action thriller.

There is a love triangle between Zayed, Riteish and Esha. The stunts and action is by Allan Amin.

Aishwarya put off by bold scenes?

Reports have it that Aishwarya Rai has objected to some bold scenes she has shot for her forthcoming movie Mistress Of Spices .

The film, directed by Paul Mayeda Berges, is based on the novel of the same title by author Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni. Aishwarya pairs with 44-year-old actor Dylan McDermott in the film.

It is learnt that Aishwarya is unhappy about the inclusion of certain bold scenes she has shot with McDermott in the movie. One of these scenes is a bedroom sequence in which McDermott is shown brushing his hand gently on Ash抯 bareback. In fact, this scene also features in one of the movie抯 promotional posters.

There have been reports alleging that such bold scenes have been deleted from the movie抯 final cut, but the film抯 co-producer Deepak Nayar has denied it.

However, the movie抯 distributors are worried because neither the movie抯 director nor Aishwarya Rai has begun promoting the film in India. The film is less than a week away from hitting the theatres.

The Veer Zaara team was at Virgin Megastore of the Champs-Elys閑s for a special meeting of dedications on April 26 as part of the French government抯 initiative to promote France as a movie-shooting destination among Indian filmmakers.  

The Veer Zaara team, consisting of Shahrukh Khan, Rani Mukherjee, Preity Zinta, Yash Chopra and Sanjeev Kohli, was at Virgin Megastore of the Champs-Elys閑s for a special meeting of dedications on April 26.

France is observing a Bollywood week starting April 26 till May 2, 2006. The evening was inaugurated with the presentation of Veer Zaara in the presence of the cast of the film. This is part of the French government抯 initiative to promote France as a movie-shooting destination among Indian filmmakers.

Earlier in the month of February Shah Rukh Khan had visited France for shooting of Farhan Akhtar's remake of Don. French Govt has offered Bollywood filmmakers attractions such as tax exemption for all expenses of production, free transportation and accommodation where ever applicable.

Some attendees of the event reported that they were made to wait for the stars for a many hours. The stars left within half an hour of their arrival. Very few of the attendees were allowed to receive the autographs of the stars. Most people complained against the Megastore for bad management of the event.

Barangkali tidak keterlaluan andai dikatakan lirik lagu yang berjudul Biarlah Rahsia itu adalah sebuah kisah benar mengenai diri Siti berdasarkan situasi yang melanda penyanyi itu ketika ini.

'Lirik lagu itu memang ada kena mengena dengan Siti,'demikian pengakuan Siti ketika sidang media dalam majlis pelancaran album terbarunya di Kuala Lumpur awal minggu ini.

Namun wartawan terus mengasaknya soalan peribadi berkaitan hubungannya dengan Datuk K.

Ketika diminta komennya mengenai ada pihak mendakwa Datuk K sudah mengesahkan bahawa dia dan Siti mempunyai hubungan istimewa dan sudah merancang untuk berkahwin tidak lama lagi, jelas Siti dia tidak kisah sekiranya perkara itu benar.

'Saya tidak marah dengan pengakuan Datuk K itu kerana masing-masing berhak dan mempunyai input sendiri untuk bercakap. Tapi, jangan paksa saya untuk membuat kenyataan kerana saya belum bersedia,' jelas Siti.

Bagaimanapun, apabila isu mengenai hubungannya dengan seorang jurutera yang didakwa abang angkatnya ditimbulkan, Siti dengan pantas me nafikannya sambil menegaskan beliau langsung tidak mengenali pemuda itu.

Mengaku tidak mudah berlakon di pentas

Bayangkan peragawati dan pelakon jelita Nasha Aziz menghidupkan watak sebagai perempuan joget zaman 1950-an yang didera suami dalam pementasan Lantai T. Pinkie.

Itulah yang bakal penonton teater muzikal Lantai T. Pinkie dapat saksikan apabila Nasha naik ke pentas Istana Budaya, Kuala Lumpur, buat julung-julung kalinya untuk sebuah pementasan minggu ini.

Penglibatan gadis tinggi lampai itu selaku perempuan joget menerusi teater Lantai T. Pinkie merupakan percubaan pertamanya untuk sebuah teater muzikal.

'Saya gementar, takut dan tidak yakin kerana saya belum pernah berlakon pentas.

'Kalau buat peragaan juga saya masih gementar, apatah lagi berhadapan dengan penonton yang ramai di tempat yang lebih besar dalam masa yang lama iaitu sepuluh hari,' akui Nasha.

Pelakon yang juga seorang peragawati itu akan mula beraksi dalam Lantai T. Pinkie versi 2006 di Panggung Sari, Istana Budaya, mulai Jumaat ini sehingga 7 Mei, bermula 8.30 malam.

Naskhah teater karya sasterawan terkemuka, Datuk A. Samad Said, itu kali pertama dipentas kumpulan teater setempat, Teater Kami, pada Jun 1996 sempena Pesta Seni Singapura.

Pementasan versi kali ini, bagaimanapun, agak berbeza kerana ia bakal diolah menjadi sebuah pementasan bercorak muzikal dengan Suhaimi Mohd Zain atau Pak Ngah sebagai pengarah muziknya.

T. Pinkie atau nama sebenarnya Tengku Seindahkuno ialah perempuan joget yang paling cantik dan terkenal di Bunga Joget Moden dan menjadi buruan ramai lelaki.

Hidupnya sebagai perempuan joget di Singapura dalam zaman 1950-an selepas Perang Dunia Kedua penuh duka lara. Mampukah Nasha ikut menari sepertinya?

Nasha, 35 tahun, mengakui beliau mengambil masa yang agak lama untuk membuat keputusan melibatkan diri dalam pementasan arahan Rosminah Mohd Tahir dan terbitan Siti Rohayah Attan itu.

Bagi Nasha, watak T. Pinkie itu cukup hebat dan cabarannya adalah untuk 'menyelami kehidupan perempuan kabaret pada zaman yang cukup berbeza dengan dunia kita'.

'Saya belum lahir ketika cerita itu berlaku. Barangkali itu kelebihannya, kita akan bertindak mengikut situasi, tunjuk ajar dan hati,' ujar Nasha yang akan berlakon seiring Vanidah Imran, Safura Yaacob dan Jalaludin Hassan.

Menyentuh pandangan sinis sesetengah pihak yang mempersoalkan kemampuan Nasha untuk menari, pelakon yang pernah membintang filem seperti Laila Isabella, Trauma dan Buli Balik itu, menambah:

'Kita boleh belajar kalau kita tidak pandai... saya memilih jalan yang mudah iaitu belajar. Sama ada saya boleh menari atau tidak, tentu ukurannya di pentas.'

Untuk mengukur dirinya di luar lingkungan, Nasha sifatkan ia sebagai tidak adil kerana, 'saya dilahirkan sebagai peragawati dan pelakon, bukan penari'.

Bagaimanapun, akhbar Utusan Malaysia pernah menukil Pak Samad sebagai berkata: 'T. Pinkie mempunyai ciri seperti Nasha Aziz yang memiliki bentuk badan mengghairahkan sebagai seorang penari joget.'

Akshay Kumar opposite Konkona in 厖.?

Ace Bengali director Rituparno Ghosh and National Awards winning actress Konkona Sen Sharma are teaming up for a comedy. The-yet-to-title film will be a double version film. Tollywood superstar Prosenjit will play the lead in the Bengali version and a Bollywood hero in the Hindi version. If rumours to be believed, it is Akshay Kumar, who can play in the film opposite Konkona. As per a source, close to Rituparno Ghosh, the director of 'Chokher Bali' is seriously contemplating on Akshay Kumar for the role.

Astrologer predicts Salman抯 future!

Astrologer Bejan Daruwalla predicts in a renowned English daily recently that Salman Khan will sail through his problems only after September 2007. According to him, from June 2003, Saturn, the planet of delay, disappointment, difficulty and doom, has been in complete confrontation and clashes with Salman's sun. Saturn opposed Salman's sun in Capricorn, June 5, 2003 to July 16, 2005. From July 17, 2005, Saturn opposed Salman's Moon, Venus, and Mars in Aquarius. "That was cruel fate for him," says Bejan.

"Saturn will continue its opposition till September 2, 2007," he warns.

However he assures the good time will come in his life after September 2, 2007, because Saturn will be then in Virgo and the opposition will cease, resulting in relief from suffering for Salman. Let's see what future holds for Salman!  

It's only the results that matter, says Hrithik Roshan

Hrithik Roshan gets candid about 'Krrish', designing a signature clothes line and good 'bonding'.

Priyanka Chopra's ex-secretary Prakash Jaju might have threatened to stop the release of 'Krrish' if she doesn't clear his dues, but Hrithik Roshan is hardly perturbed.

"It is a needless controversy, and I shouldn't be reacting," says the actor who is standing firmly behind Chopra. "Jaju has been an irritant in Priyanka's life. The sooner she's free of him, the better," he says.

What's really on his mind at the moment is his upcoming film, 'Krrish'. While he isn't allowing himself to be carried away with the pre-release reactions, there is an unmistakable air of quiet confidence.

"This initial excitement does not matter. It is all hype and doesn't guarantee success. It's the results that matter," he explains.

Ask him whether 'Fanaa' will be a tough competition to 'Krrish' and he says, "'Fanaa' should be interesting. Because it has Kajol and Aamir,  I am looking forward to it. And of course, to my film too," he laughs. "Both are different genres and both should work."

But what throws him off a bit are the various conjectures being thrown around on the status of Ashutosh Gowariker's 'Akbar-Jodha', in which he's starring opposite Aishwarya Rai for the first time. "From what I know, the film's very much on. It's happening as planned," he says.

Even for 'Dhoom II', which he shot for in Brazil, everything is turning out just fine. "That was a wonderful schedule," he recalls."On an outdoor shoot, you bond well with your co-stars and hence it is always special. And better bonding results in better work." Hrithik says he really enjoyed his anonymity in Brazil. "The best part was that I could roam the beaches and not get mobbed," he laughs.

'Nothing special about Kareena'

Teen heartthrob Shahid Kapur claims that pairing professionally with girlfriend Kareena Kapoor is like working with "any other co-star".

"She was like any other co-star. Beyond a point it was like it has been with other artistes," said Shahid, who stars with Kareena in Abbas-Mastan's "36 China Town" releasing next week.

The couple was earlier seen in Ken Ghosh's "Fida".

In "36 China Town", Shahid plays an aspiring actor who runs away from home to make it big but finds himself trapped in mysterious circumstances.

"I play the character of a struggling actor in the film with loads of dream. I have a fight with my parents when they try to stop me from getting into films. I throw a challenge at them that I will come back only after making it really big in the industry.

"Circumstances are such that I get stuck in a controversy and keep running from place to place. It is about how my character gets into the mystery," Shahid told.

Commenting on the title of the film, he said: "There is a place called China Town in the city and the number of the bungalow where the incident happens is 36. Hence this name because it talks of the address where the crime happens."

Shahid is not at all worried about the length of his role in "36 China Town", which is a multi-starrer.

"If you have a good role and each role is clearly defined, then artistes get their share of exposure in the film. Secondly, how you play your role is also important. The right script is important for any film and not only for multi-starrers. In fact, in such films your own responsibility as the star gets shared and this betters your performance."

Most of the top stars are into bodybuilding, but Shahid says an actor should concentrate more on his performance then biceps.

"I don't think that bodybuilding is absolutely essential to be a lead actor in Hindi films. It is more important to be able to perform. So acting is primary, anything else comes as an additional perk."

The actor also said he is a big fan of his father, Pankaj Kapur, and veteran actor Dilip Kumar.  

When Preity Zinta was conned!

Her super star status aside, Preity is just like any other working woman. In fact, when she gets the time, she actually goes shopping for vegetables to the local market! One of her favorite haunts is Bandra抯 Pali Naka area, which is close to her house. This is the place from where she picks up her vegetable and herbs, quite often.

Just having completed the shoot of Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, she was in town, recently. And having some time to herself, she set out shopping for some bhaji. And this time she didn抰 bargain at all! She has quite an interesting theory. According to her, those who cheat her will be taught a lesson by their karma.

Now, clearly the actress who has been hopping across one nation to the other, would not really be aware of the local vegetable rates! Earlier, the vendors would quote a higher price and con her! Her maid would always tell her that she has been cheated! So she would always get upset. But now with her new theory, Preity has no cause for concern! What goes around comes around, is the new mantra!
