New Injury Fears For Gary Neville
Manchester United and England right-back Gary Neville failed to make another comeback in a reserve match on Thursday night, prompting fears about his ability to resume his career.
Gary Neville was due to appear in a Manchester United reserve game at Sunderland on Thursday, but was withdrawn without explanation.
And as United have not indicated when Neville could return to action, new fears have been triggered that his injury problems are sabotaging the resumption of his career.
It is now more than six months since Neville last featured in the United first-team after he injured ankle ligaments in a game against Bolton last March.
In the period since the injury, he has made just one reserve team appearance - playing for an hour at the end of October.
That brief appearance suggested that he might soon be ready to return to Premier League action.
But the Daily Mirror said today: "Although manager Sir Alex Ferguson dismissed as 'an extreme fear' the suggestion that Neville's absence may be permanent, the captain's continued aborted comebacks have raised the prospect of a worst-case scenario." |

Ronaldo helps spread HIV/AIDS awareness
KUALA LUMPUR: Football club Manchester United has contributed RM500,000 under its United for Unicef partnership programme in Malaysia to bring HIV/AIDS awareness to young people.
Unicef East Asia and Pacific Regional Advisor for HIV and AIDS Wing-Sie Cheng said the grant would be used to enhance youth activities by the six Prostar Youth Centres in Kedah and help set up a new centre in Perlis.
Prostar (Healthy Living Without AIDS Programme for Youth) is a Health Ministry initiative to promote HIV/AIDS awareness through peer education.
A public service announcement featuring Manchester United抯 Christiano Ronaldo premiered at the launch of the Unicef Youth Forum in Legend Hotel Friday.
About 100 participants from various youth organisations gave their input in drawing up the Young People抯 HIV and AIDS Agenda for Action.
The forum is held in conjunction with the 1st National AIDS Conference from Nov 30 till Dec 2, to commemorate World AIDS Day.

Rooney should make Monday 
Wayne Rooney looks likely to face Fulham on Monday night after sufficiently recovering from a twisted ankle.
Sir Alex Ferguson revealed his main striker, who was injured in a training ground accident earlier this month, has been back in full training ahead of the Cottagers' visit.
"Wayne has been training terrifically and his fitness levels are good," the United manager told his weekly press conference at Carrington.
"He did all his running last week and he got through that fine. He's been on the football pitch this week and trained with the first team today [Friday]. Now he's got three days before the Fulham game and I hope he'll be ready. He won't need long to get his rhythm back."
Prior to his injury, Rooney was in fine goalscoring form, having bagged eight goals in seven consecutive matches during October and November.
Wayne's recovery means that only long-term absentees Gary Neville, Paul Scholes, Ji-sung Park, Ben Foster and Mikael Silvestre should be unavailable for selection against Lawrie Sanchez's side |
