Apple iPhone 5 to be released on September 21: Report
New Delhi: Apple has sent out media invites to an event slated for September 12. With the date of the announcement of the iPhone 5 almost confirmed, the point of interest is the launch date of the handset. A recent report by GottaBeMobile has backed the numerous rumours that Apple will launch the handset on September 21, nine days after the announcement. As per the report, the author Josh Smith states, "The iPhone 5 release date is September 21st. A trusted source familiar with
Apple's iPhone shipping plans confirmed plans for the iPhone 5 to arrive on the doorsteps of customers on Friday the 21st for the first to complete iPhone 5 pre-orders. Our source tells GottaBeMobile that Apple notified shippers to expect mass shipments of the iPhone 5 on September 21st and shippers are taking steps to make sure enough staff are on hand for the large number of deliveries."
The website also states that costumers will get shipment notifications earlier than the launch date but deliveries are required to take place on the launch date itself, September 21.
In a related report by Geeky Gadgets, those interested in preordering the iPhone 5 will need to wait just for two days after the announcement is made. The report states, "Yesterday we heard some rumors that the iPhone 5 release date would be the 21st of September, and now we have received some information from a source that has confirmed that Apple will release the iPhone 5 on the 21st of September. We had thought previously that Apple would put the iPhone 5 up for pre-order on the same day it is announced, the 12th of September, but our source has confirmed to us that Apple will start the Phone 5 pre-orders from the 14th of September."
This information should be really exciting for those who are eager to get their hands on this year's flagship smartphone from Apple as the brand has not refreshed the look of the device since 2010.
One of the biggest changes expected on the next flagship handset is that it will come equipped with a display measuring 4 inches diagonally. If Apple does add a 4-inch display to its next iPhone, this will be the first time it uses a display size larger than 3.5 inches. The resolution of the next iPhone is believed to be 1136 x 640, with the width remaining the same. The change in design is a likely indicator, which may propel Apple to reach high sales figures.
With the possible change in design, we can also see that Apple will redo the design of the dock connector at the bottom and it will be a lot smaller in comparison. This change will apparently be implemented to fit the handset with LTE capabilities.
As for the display of the next iPhone, it is believed that Apple will incorporate a new technology called in-cell, which will help in making the handset a lot slimmer. This will help in avoiding the use of another touchscreen layer, as with in-cell technology, the touch sensors are integrated into the LCD itself.
Samsung Galaxy Note 2 UK release date confirmed as 1 OctoberBy Gerald Lynch on September 25, 2012
We hope you've had time to sew some new oversize pockets into your trousers, because we've just had UK launch date confirmation for the massive Samsung Galaxy Note 2 land.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will be released to the masses on 1 October in the UK.
"We were delighted by the hugely positive response we received when we first announced the Galaxy Note II at IFA back in August," said Simon Stanford, Vice President, of Samsung UK and Ireland.
"The Galaxy Note II is a whole new level of innovation and we are confident users are going to enjoy the updated features and design of our latest Galaxy device when it hits the shelves on the 1st of October."
The 5.55-inch handset includes stylus support through its S-Pen peripheral, and runs Google's Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. Available in Marble White and Titanium Grey shades, you'll be able to pick it up from the Samsung Brand Store in Westfield, Stratford City, Carphone Warehouse, Phones 4u and all major UK networks.
No pricing available yet, but we'll update as we get it.
We went hands-on with the handset at the recent IFA 2012 tech show in Berlin. Check out our first thoughts in the video above!
Summary: Samsung's Galaxy Note II update to its popular tablet-phone hybrid - complete with stylus - will go on sale at 'major networks' and its own London store from Monday.

The second version of the popular hybrid tablet-smartphone will go on sale at the Korean hardware maker's own store in the Westfield Stratford shopping centre in London, as well as at "all major networks", Samsung said in its announcement on Tuesday.
Like its predecessor, the Galaxy Note II is sized somewhere between a smartphone and a tablet, and comes with a 5.5-inch display. The hybrid is also unusual in that for some of its features, it relies on a stylus — the S Pen — for input, rather than finger swipes on a capacitive touchscreen.
As well as upgrading to Android 4.1, Samsung has given new abilities to the device's stylus. The S Pen now allows people to preview emails by hovering over them and to make phone calls by making gestures, for example. The Note II is also slightly thinner, shifts the display's aspect ratio from 16:10 to 16:9 and replaces the original's 1.4GHz dual-core chip with a 1.6GHz quad-core."The introduction of the original Galaxy Note was a great success — we succeeded in creating an entirely new category and went on to sell more than 10 million devices globally," Simon Stanford, the local head of telecoms and networks for Samsung, said in a statement. "With the Galaxy Note II, we're not only expanding the category, we're also evolving the technology."
No official UK pricing was given for the Galaxy Note II, which comes in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB versions. However, a number of online retailers are listing network plans and standalone cost for the device, which they can start selling a day after the initial launch.
Retailer Clove is charging £528 for a SIM-free 16GB version of the hybrid, which comes in grey and white. Competitor Phones4U lists a range of plans from Vodafone, T-Mobile, Orange and O2. For example, the Galaxy Note II is free on a 24-month O2 plan with unlimited texts, calls and 1GB of data, costing £41 a month, or on a 24-month Vodafone subscription with 2GB of data, at £42 a month.

The Samsung Galaxy Note II will be in Malaysia very soon. After its teaser on Facebook, Samsung Malaysia has officially sent invites for its launch event happening on the 11th October. With the event happening next Thursday, we believe that the full availability will follow shortly after the media preview like the Galaxy S III. Malaysia is possibily one of the earliest countries to get the Galaxy Note II, which we could be earlier than the US that’s launching on 24th October.
During the launch event, Samsung has invited Ernest Zacharevic, the artist that transformed the streets of Penang to do what he does best on the Galaxy Note II. Hopefully we get more details such as telco bundling and pricing from the event.
With the Galaxy Note II and iPhone 5 expected to make an appearance soon, October will definitely be an exciting month.
For those who can’t wait to get a Samsung Galaxy Note II, some retailers have started selling it online. Majority of them are believed to be AP sets which are basically grey imports from overseas. We’ve spotted 3 offers so far with the lowest coming from a Lelong seller at RM2,030 which comes with in-store 1 year warranty.
Online retailer IPMart is offering the Note II for RM2,149 and it also comes with their own 1 year Warranty. They are even offering free shipping within Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei using Nationwide Express.
The highest price we’ve seen so far is from another Lelong seller which is offering it at RM2,399 but claims to offer a longer 2 year warranty instead.
The official Samsung Malaysia units are expected to hit telcos and retailers next week but if you’re itching for one, these are probably the best alternatives at the moment. Of course, we would highly recommend official local units as you’ll get a more extensive warranty and support compared to AP sets.
Mujurlah aku dah pakai S3 & tak gila kejar gagdets ni semua
kalau tak, mungkin nak gak sambar Note II
inilah namanya phone yg berevolusi dan ada inovasi, memang terbaek
jgn jadi mcm ada satu phone tu yg duduk bawah tempurung je
