Capello Cannot Be Criticized - Aguirre

Atletico Madrid coach Javier Aguirre has come to the defense of Real Madrid counterpart Fabio Capello ahead of this weekend's Madrid derby.
"I do not understand how Fabio's work can be criticized, or that of Raul," said Aguirre.

"Real Madrid are playing very well, are at the top in the [Primera] Liga, and have only conceded one goal; yet the criticism continues."

Despite praising Real, the Mexican denied that they could be favourites for Sunday's clash: "Both the teams are in a new potition, familiarizing with the new players, organizing as a team, though they might be a step ahead.

"Because we are the ones away from home, some believe that they will be favourites. But it will be eleven against eleven on the field, and I see us very equal."

Guti: We'll Beat Atletico 3-0

Real Madrid midfielder Guti has boldly predicted that his side will beat Atletico Madrid 3-0 on Sunday, even guessing the goalscorers.

The two clubs meet at the Bernabeu in what should be a fascinating encounter, with both having started the season strongly.

"We are going to win 3-0 with goals from (Ruud) Van Nistelrooy, Raul and (Jose Antonio) Reyes," said Guti, who is set to sign a new contract with the club.

The player was actually linked with a move to Atletico in the summer, but insists a deal was never close.

"I hope to sign my renovation as quickly as possible," he continued. "I want to stay here many years and if the president has said that he wants me to retire here, the talks will be easy."

He added: "This summer there was nothing serious with Atletico. My intention was to stay at Real Madrid and if I? have left it would have been to a foreign club."

Guti also predicted a rough ride for champions Barcelona in La Liga this season.

He said: "Bar? are the favourites for the league and Champions League. They have a great squad that they have reinforced very well. They are the team to beat, but this year it will be more difficult for them to win with Real Madrid, Sevilla, Valencia and Atletico Madrid."
