Matrix To Mourinho: First Team Or I'm Off
Marco Materazzi is demanding immediate talks with incoming Inter coach Jose Mourinho, and will ask to leave the club if he is not assured of a first team place.

Mourinho will be named as the new boss of the Nerazzurri this week, and he will immediately begin to shape his squad ahead of next season.

Veteran centre back Materazzi, who will turn 35 in a few months, had a miserable 2007/08 season where he struggled with injury and poor form.

The Matrix is said to be concerned about his place in the team next term, as Inter currently posses a host of top class centre backs, including Ivan Cordoba, Christian Chivu and Walter Samuel.

Chelsea star Ricardo Carvalho has also been linked with a move to the Stadio Meazza, and sources in Milan say that Materazzi is demanding immediate talks with Mourinho.

If the Portuguese tactician does not guarantee the former Perugia man a first team place, then the hardman will ask for a transfer.

Fiorentina, who recently missed out on Andrea Barzagli, are said to be following the situation closely, and could launch a bid for the World Cup winner.
