Italy defender Marco Materazzi is fuming that his World Cup suspension has ruled him out of the France clash. ? should be playing tomorrow night,? he said.

The Inter stopper will be forced to watch Wednesday? World Cup Final repeat between France and Italy from home, as he is serving a two-match ban for the infamous Zinedine Zidane incident.

Zidane shocked the planet by flooring Materazzi with a head-butt in the closing minutes of the Germany 2006 Final, claiming afterwards that the Italian had insulted his family.

Both players were subsequently handed a suspension, with FIFA even deciding to punish Materazzi for his role in provoking the former Juventus player.

French network Canal + had already tried to get the two players to meet on TV in August, but Zidane declined the offer saying he was not interested.

Materazzi has also looked to explain what exactly made Zizou lose his cool in Berlin.

"I was tugging his shirt, he said to me 'if you want my shirt so much I'll give it to you afterwards.' I answered that I'd prefer his sister,? Marco noted.

"It's not a particularly nice thing to say, I recognise that. But loads of players say worse things. I didn't even know he had a sister before all this happened."

Donadoni plays down Bleus tie

Italy coach Roberto Donadoni does not believe Wednesday's highly-anticipated rematch with France is a make-or-break game in Group B.

Two months after the Azzurri's victory in the World Cup final the two teams meet again in qualifying for Euro 2008, but the tables have turned with Italy now under-fire.

Donadoni's first game in charge witnessed a disappointing 1-1 draw with Lithuania, whilst France beat Georgia 3-0, and the pressure is now on the world champions to perform in Paris.

The build-up to the game has also witnessed barbed dialogue between the two camps, with the fallout from Zinedine Zidane's red card still fresh in the memory, but Donadoni is attempting to play down the magnitude of the clash.

"The game with France is an important match, but not decisive," said Donadoni.

"We will find a hostile climate but it's not said it will be a disadvantage.

"The more we can express ourselves the more they will be confused."

Reports in Italy suggest Donadoni may introduce Gianluca Zambrotta, Alberto Gilardino and Franco Semioli for Massimo Oddo, Filippo Inzaghi and Daniele De Rossi after the embarrassing result against Lithuania in Naples, but the Azzurri coach is keeping his cards close to his chest.

"I already have an idea of the line-up but I wait for the last training," Donadoni added.

"Surely there will be a few changes in comparison to Naples.

"Cassano and only one other forward? It is a possibility."

One player excluded from the squad despite forming a part of the team that won the World Cup is Udinese star Vicenzo Iaquinta, but the striker says he is not concerned about his omission from Donadoni's plans.

Iaquinta admits he is not at full sharpness, although he should be in an improved condition for the start of the Serie A season this weekend.

"I've spoken with Donadoni and he explained to me why I haven't been called up for these dates," Iaquinta told Udinese's official website.

"But I wouldn't have hoped for this because I only restarted training on August 17 and I could pretend the coach called me to the detriment of other players.

"If now I'm at 50 percent of my general condition, on Sunday I could be at 80 percent."
