Morientes Rues No Raul Call
Fernando Morientes has expressed his surprise by the way that Ra? was told that he was dropped from the Spain squad and believes that his own chances of a return are now slim.
The Valencia striker and was not impressed by the way in which Luis Aragon? informed his great friend and former Real Madrid team-mate about his omission from the national team.
Ra? was dropped from the Spain set-up for the first time in ten years, for reasons other than injury, and Aragon? confessed that he did not telephone the player to tell him.
"One quick call before the squad is made public and a chat about the reasons would have been the best thing," Morientes said.
"Everyone has their own opinion. It is true that he could be better or worse and he could score more or less goals, but what there is no doubt about is that he is the top scorer in the history of the national team and has been captain for many years.
"Apart from whether he is called up or not, I think that the way the news was broken could have been handled better."
Despite scoring six goals in Valencia's opening seven games of the season, Morientes was not named by Aragon? in the squad to face Sweden and Argentina.
"If a while back I thought that the door to the national team was still open to me, now I think that it is closing little-by-little," the former Liverpool forward said.
"I think it is difficult to be make my way back in later on if I have not been chosen in the form I am currently in."
mamat moro yg score gol banyak camtu pun tak kene panggil gak....:jeling: |

Sevilla in frame for Barcelona striker Saviola
By Joseph De Lacey - October 02, 2006
Barcelona striker Javier Saviola may be moving to Sevilla at the end of the year.
Despite scoring against Athletic Bilbao on the weekend, replacing the injured Samuel Eto'o, the striker is deemed surplus to requirements at the Catalan club and looks likely to be sold.
The Argentine forward spent last year at Sevilla and, despite having an impressive World Cup, looks set to return. Saviola's, Alfredo Cabrera Brizuela, has suggested that a five-year deal awaits him at Sevilla. |

Guti: Real Madrid will beat Atletico 3-0
tribalfooball.com - September 29, 2006
Cocky Real Madrid ace Guti has declared they'll thump Atletico "3-0" in Sunday's Madrid derby.
"We are going to win 3-0 with goals of Van Nistelrooy, Raul and Reyes," declared Guti, who was actually linked with Atletico in the summer.
He also said: "This summer there was nothing serious with Atletico. My intention was to continue Real Madrid and if I had to leave, I would have gone abroad." |
