Why Kdrama “I Hear Your Voice” Breaks Its Own Ratings Records
The new drama has an interesting theme, the importance of listening to others.
I Hear Your Voice
If ever a drama was well named, it's "I Hear Your Voice."
One of the main characters in the SBS drama is Park Soo Ha, played by Lee Jong Suk. Park Soo Ha can hear people's thoughts, which makes him very useful to defense attorney Jang Hye Sung, played by Lee Bo Young. But the story is not just about his paranormal abilities. It is also about the importance of listening to others and not proceeding blindly without all the facts.
Jang Hye Sung is a woman who has no fear about expressing her opinions, but she really needs to learn to listen so she can discover the whole truth about the people in her life and the defendants she represents. She tends to hear what she wants to hear and it's not always enough to get the full picture.
The drama has been breaking its own records for a few episodes now. On June 14, it was up 1.1 percent in ratings over the previous day's ratings of 15 percent. By June 20, it was up to a 17.8 percent viewer rating. That's a 1.7 percent increase.
The competing drama "Heaven's Order" rated 8.9 percent of the viewers, while MBC's "The Queen's Classroom," which got good reviews on its first episodes, earned 7.8 percent.
Netizens have called "I Hear Your Voice" the next must-watch drama.
What's making this drama so popular?
The characters are interesting. Lee Jong Suk is so sweet in his attempts to protect Lee Bo Young that netizens want to pack him a box lunch. Lee Bo Young's character is irritating and shortsighted at times, but you know, based on her past behavior, that she is a good person. The cases that Lee Bo Young and her team defend keep the plot moving along at an interesting pace. There's the possibility of romance between Jang Hye Sung and the dorky but lovable attorney Cha Gwan Woo, played by Yoon Sang Hyun. And there's the ongoing conflict, which you can't be sure is going to remain a conflict, between Lee Bo Young's character and Lee Dah Hee's prosecutor Seo Do Yeon.
And just to keep things tense, there is the menacing figure of the murderer Min Joon Guk, played by Jung Woong In, that Park Soo Ha must defend Jang Hye Sung against.
And the underlying theme of the drama is a worthy one. Everyone could learn to listen a little more carefully.

I Hear Your Voice Episode 7 Review: Lee Bo Young Wins Another Case with Lee Jong Suk’s Help
Jun 26, 2013
I Hear Your Voice, Lee Bo Young, Lee Jong Suk, Yoon Sang-hyunNo comments
In I Hear Your Voice, episode 7, Jang Hye Sung(played by Lee Bo Young) won another case with Park Soo Ha(played by Lee Jong Suk)’s help. Previously, Hye Sung had a trouble with a defendant, and the case was passed over to Cha Gwan Woo(played by Yoon Sang Hyun). Gwan Woo insisted that the defendant was suffering from the hardships of life, and requested for favorable arrangements. However, the victim refused to be in agreement; moreover, because the defendant had habitual theft as well, imprisonment was already unavoidable. Hye Sung decided to approach to this case differently. As Soo Ha found out the defendant and the victim already met at a funeral of their mutual relative, this made Hye Sung realize that the defendant did not need to go to jail because of the rule that if a relative agrees, he does not need to be punished for theft. Hye Sung and Soo Ha went to see the victim together. Their plan was to ask questions to him and then Soo Ha will read his mind. Hye Sung pressured him for housebreaking and advertising prostitution on newspapers. In the end, he agreed and the defendant was able to avoid imprisonment.

Jun 26, 2013
As Gwan Woo successfully solved a case with help from Hye Sung, he hugged her with joy. Then he kissed her on her hand and said, “Date me. What’s wrong? You don’t want to?” Hye Sung was surprised but soon answered, “Yes, I want to.” Meanwhile, Soo Ha saw this and was shocked.

I Hear Your Voice Episode 7 Review: Jung Woong In Harms Kim Hae Sook
Jun 26, 2013
Joon Gook finally made a move of hurting Choon Shim. He hit her on the head, tied her up and confined her in a room. He let her talk to Jang Hye Sung(played by Lee Bo Young) on the phone for the last time. Choon Shim said to Hye Sung, “‘An eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth’. Don’t think this way. You promise me. Don’t spend your time on hating someone else.” After the phone call was done, Joon Gook asked, “Was that your last will? Aren’t you supposed to beg her to save you?” Choon Shim replied, “I know what you want already, you thought I would let you have what you want?” She continued, “I have pity on you. What a hell you would have lived in hating someone else.” Joon Gook said, “Now your daughter will live in hell hating me.” Choon Shim answered, “No, she won’t. I didn’t raise her to become foolish like you.”
Meanwhile, Park Soo Ha(played by Lee Jong Suk) found out through a location tracing that Joon Gook was at Choon Shim’s house. Just then, Hye Sung’s phone rang. As Soo Ha answered the phone he was shocked and looked at Hye Sung.
