i disagree with the idea stating that 'STEALTH SHIP ARE CRAP a.k.a USELESS'.......

First....why do u think, they ever developed stealth tech in the first place....Because they hv run the study and found it very USEFULL .......they will not wasting a lot of money for useless things.......n....hey...even MALAYSIA n SINGAPORE navy buying stealthier vessel currently......n again why they r buying this sort of thing.....it is because it is USEFUL...we r talking about goverment level where a lot of CERDIK PANDAI a.k.a BIJAK people brainstorming on the procurement....

in our case..the constraint is MONEY......

it is simple.... why do u want to remain on the former state when u hv more advance technology.....sometimes people tend to make things  difficult......

Stealth tech will give u a lot of Tactical Advantage......just a simple example: when an MPA conducting RMP patrol, most of the time they will shine their radar.....so if ur ship hv stealth config it will reduce the echo return thus making u much more smaller vessel e.g fishing vessel....the pilot of the aircraft will be more interested in findings bigger echo for bigger ship....Nah..here u hv the first tactical advantage....u will not be Tally Ho and ur element of surprise will still be there....

it isnt impossible for a warship operating alone......this event will occur when u designated as PICKET duty a.k.a RECCE ship.....u will be 20, 50 or 100 miles ahead of ur convoy...in this case u will be communicating through secure net and also DATA LINK...n yes u will be vulnerable to attack, n this is where stealth technology offer u more survivability percentage for not being detected too early.....

i agree....Submarine is a better option ....but subs is not everything .....they also hv their own weakness....
1. Lack of Support.....they operate alone ......unable to conduct Replenishment At Sea, due to invisible requirement.....

2.Lack of Defence capability......unlike surface warship, where u hv hard kill n soft kill measures to counter missile attack.....for sub u will only hv soft kill measure for countering TORP/Depth charge/ASROC....Sub also doesnt hv the defence in depth privileged as per warship convoy.....sub is more vulnerable to aircraft attack....

3.Lack of Real Time Situational awareness......Data exchange with another party(shore base) are delicate due to the strict EMCON policy......

4. Limited detection means.........its mainly operating using passive device.....therefore tactical situation picture will be limited........

Sure if you are on picket duty, you are still part of the larger fleet out there; if that is it you're not gonna be the bigger target.  Sure there's advantageous, but its a fallacy in thinking a stealth ship is going to make a quantum leap in maritime strategy.  Its the nature of the beast, consider a Carrier Battle Group, how the hell are you going to hide that when you will have your AWACS operating 24/7.  Like I said, the advantage will be great if you are considering a 1-on-1 profile i.e. seaskimmer coming after you.  Other than that, really its not effective to put your money into it in that instead you get 2 frigates but because of stealth you get 1.
