The world's only alpine parrot, New Zealand's kea, is probably the world's smartest and most annoying protected bird species. The kea has been shown to have extraordinary problem solving skills and also seems to enjoy teasing people and other animals. The keas particularily enjoy removing rubber lining and seals from vehicles and sliding down corrugated iron roofs to make as much noise as possible. The kea was heavily hunted until 1970, and is still threatened in some areas. The only way to keep the kea away from populated areas is to hide all food and playthings.
Ini mengenai kucing pulak:
WHY DOES CAT BRING NEARLY DEAD MICE?
Don't confuse the behaviour as one of feeling proud of his catch. He brings the prey home because he sees the house as his safe sanctuary - worthy of a feeding den.
So why doesn't he eat the poor mouse?...because he probably prefers the cat food you leave out, and isn't particularly hungry anyway.
This show, that catching mice has become a hobby, rather than a necessary function.
WHY DOES SHE SHARPEN HER CLAWS ON THE FURNITURE?
Actually she's not really sharpening her claws, she's trying to get rid of old and frayed claws, making room for new ones.
But she's also marking her territory. Scratch marks act as a visual boundary, but there are also scent glands underneath her feet, which act as another maker.
OUR CAT GOES WILD WHEN WE TRY TO PUT HIM IN A BASKET
Baskets are nearly always associated with a distressing experience - a visit to the vet or a stay at a cattery. Cats soon remember this association and will be very wary of a basket for these reason.
Making the basket part of the cat's normal terrritory may help - although basket normally mean journey in a car - and cats do not like this either.
IS RUBBING AGAINST OUR LEGS A SIGN OF AFFECTION?
Suprisingly, no. Although it is a form of communication.
The cat uses the action of rubing against your legs as a greeting, but not in the welcoming sense.
What your cat is doing, is marking you with his scent and absorbing your scent on himself - which he then senses by licking his flank fur.
These serve to make the cat feel secure, rather than to make your feel wanted.
patutlah kucing aku semua kenal kat aku, bunyi tapak kasut semua dah menanti kat tangga. |
