hmm...
little did i know that the ideology first brought by Camilleo de Cavour , an Italian mind you, could affect or exert such an impact in ones political ideology ..and what's more , it has been the most favourable ideology out of all political ideologies available in our time.
well being a nationalist demands a person to love and loyal to his motherland
however, in a broader sense it could also imply the contribution that a person has made for their countries in whichever field they excelled at. so be it in the olympics, holy grail of science award = Nobel Prize..etc etc or even in singing / entertainment. In this case,i would rather look at the impact rather than just their mere contribution....
and also it also quite interesting to note that while discussing this political ideology, certain people usually with highly orthodox religious background or the leader of an Islamic party will deem this as impermissible due to the fact that " In Islam there is no - ism, or ideology" - their perception on modern politics is somehow greatly shapen by their interpretation of history, which is interesting to explore, understand without bias... but the only glitch lies in the aspect of execution based on a country's political and demographical profiles.
so what 's with nationalist?
nasionalism and nationism?
which one would u choose?
as this notion has been greatly challenged by the market needs and also the impact of globalization
like the use of english ( englais) in Science and maths
etc etc

my answer to this would be in pak aji's post #20.
totally agree with him...
IMHO, expats msian yg kat keje kat luar tu sbb they got opportunity to prove that they can do the job. as an individual and also as an expat (a msian) regardless of where they are. even kat s'pore pun kita dipanggil expat, apatah lagi di negara2 jauh2 tuh. dah pegang passport merah tu, msianlah jugak gamaknyer.
one thing i dont agree is people who take things for granted. yg ada kabel kuat, anak2 yg dpt scholarship, thinking that they have easy access to everything. i am not a fan of opportunists!
sekian... |

Kwame Anthony Appiah's book on Cosmopolitanism did touch on nationalism and its relevance to the current world.
also he dug out anthropology point of view on this matter. ada juga Cosmopolitanism VS Nationalism...
due to globalization, does borders of countries should be apparent?
its a good book to read... |

suka dgn penerangan aji nie...tima kasih
tapi i rasa, cara org tgk nationalist tu bukan dr sudut dr mana kita dtg tapi lebih pd sumbangan pd negara...apa sumbangan aji pd negara, tak bayar tax...setakat pi sokong org main badminton, tu bukan real semangat nationalist .....kalo negara nie perang, aji balik tak sini pertahankan maruah negara...atau aji pilih nak terus duduk bersama alien dan masih bangga jadi peduduk BUMI...w/pun hakikatnya bumi telah dijajah oleh serangga perosak?
kenapa org kelantan lebih semangat kenegraannya berbanding org negeri2 dlm m'sia?....
yahudi tu nationalist tak w/pun dia takde negara sejati utk diri sendiri... |

Tanah air ni mmg bkan satu bnda yg bley kite anggap hal remeh ar...If takde la tanah milik kite kat atas bumi ni..mana kite nk tinggal? jadi it is our duty to protect our country.
Bg aq, dgn jadi good citizen dh di anggp sayang negara. and kne igt la dat kite hidup ni bkan for ourselves je, so sumbangan to masyarakat is one way. Tak semestinye kne derma je baru nmpk as in sumbangan, if you bukak syarikat and tawarkan pekerjaan, dat is sumbangan u to d country, kuat kan economy country. Ni untuk rakyat2 biase cm kite la...
Tapi untuk pemimpin2 plak, as always yg kite dgr, if betul2 nk jadi pemimpin, jadi la pemimpin yg betul2 nk pimpin, bkan psl duit...salah nawaitu tu yang nasib negara ntah kemaner...so sesaper nk jadi pemimpin kat cni, if rase xdpt buat juz ntuk negara, tak payah la berangan,...buat dosa diri jer...pemimpin ni if buat salah neraka perginye...tapi sedey jgak tgk, kite as rakyat biase ni tau nk menuding jari je ...cube kite jd pemimpin, baru tau how hard izit, if jadi ketua kelas pown dh susah, wut more being the one who rule d country? besides nothing is perfect pun... |
