let's wait n see when RMAF dream of having 6 MRCA sqdns become a reality, what will both parties have to outbeat each other on paper, the only catch is.....when will that be?

dengan berat hanya 700 tan, panjang 62m tetapi kelajuan melebihi 30 knot memberi kelebihan melakukan manuver berbanding dgn lekiu yg mempunyai berat lebih 2000 tan tetapi hanya mempunyai kelajuan 28 knot.kalau lekiu lebih laju dari 28 knot pun, ttp mempunyai ketinggian yang lebih dr laksamana masih lg tidak mampu menandingi keupayaan laksamana...

Bukan sahaja tempat di SG lebih daripada mengcukupi, malah jet jet pejuang US seperti F18 dan transport jenis C17 di tempatkan di situ. Yang tak mencukupi adalah ruang angkasa untuk berlatih di SG. Sebab itu RSAF train di Laut Cina selatan dan di merata tempat di dunia.  Training di US dan Australia jugak membolehkan pilot SG berlatih dengan antara pilot yang terbaik di dunia.  Nak tahu, cuba lihat sendiri. Hampir setiap tahun RSAF diundang berlatih di ReD Flag. Hanyer yang terbaik sahaja diundang berkali-kali.  Lagipun, ramai pun orang dah nampak pegawai-pegawai RSAF SG di Baitul Maqdis. Pengalaman depa luas.

Menurut laporan Janes Defence Weekly(yang lebih tepat), F18 RMAF hanyer akan upgred in 2011. Yang peliknyer, Amramm dah beli dulu. Nak tahu cerita sebenor, tanyer pegawai pegawai di MOD dan kawan JP JP.  Aku rasa,  RMAF memang berhasrat untuk upgred F18 tetapi tidak mengcukupi wang pada masa itu. Duit bukan takder. Entah maner dah gi hilang. Lagipun, segala upgred pada barang barang buatan US mesti given ok oleh Defend department US dahulu.

Malaysia will upgrade the software systems on its six F/A-18C and two F/A-18D Hornets to allow them to fully utilise the latest weapon systems for the aircraft.

The upgrade is expected to cost up to USD17 million and is to be completed by 2011. Work will be carried out by a US Navy-appointed contractor as the upgrade programme will be handled by the US Department of Defense under the Foreign Military Sales programme.

The upgrades are necessary since Malaysia's F/A-18s have not undergone any software upgrade since their delivery in 1997 and thus are not fully able to utilise weapon systems introduced for the Hornets since then, such as the Advanced Medium Range Air to Air Missile (AMRAAM) and the Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM).

Malaysia currently has less than two dozen AMRAAMs in storage on US territory; it will bring them into the country this year. Malaysia has also sent a request for an undisclosed number of JDAMs that is currently pending with the US.

The F18 upgred malalui US FMS programe jadi it will be reported officially macam SG beli Amramm C7 nih.  No news pada masa sekarang. So no upgred yet.

A korvet is still a korvet. Sistem sensor, redar, elektronik warfare dan wepon memang tak leh setanding frigate. For exampel, for misel anti -ship to use to the max renge, you need heli to give over horizon targeting.

Sg F16 Blk 50/52 dan 52 plus mengunakan data link Isreal yang kompatibel dan setanding Link 16. F15SG yang mengunakan link 16. Tapi Sg have buy only 24 F15sg so far.

SG MOD telah megatakan hasrat depa untuk membeli hingga 60-80 f15SG.

So why buy 50 link 16 terminal when Sg has only 24 F15SG so far? Expect more F15SG soon like what Sg MOD say.

No. They use MLM's Smart Data Link (SDL) system from Isreal. It is one of the most advance in the world. Suppose beter than Link 16 which is why Isreal use it in Isreal network airforce than link 16.. So far only SG and Isreal use but it is kompatibel with US sistem. Other info klasified.

But i know they have upgreded Link 16 so it is beter now or as good as MLM SDL.  So maybi that why Sg buy it.  I don think for SG F16. MLM SDL is already very very good. Will be for SG new F15SG and later batches F15SG when SG buy more.

that tiny island is 6 kaki panjang, 4 kaki dalam, 3 kaki lebar daa to us.. .when the bad time really come, we'll use everything in our arsenal..including..padang jarak padang tekukur if the need arises..but we can't because US was there.. why don't you ask the whole world to place their plane as well?

No you don't. You can just shoot down a bearing line and at a preset range the harpoon radar will activate. And it is possible for the CAEWs to give targetting information.
