itulah salah satu tanda yg kehidupan di dunia ni tak akan kekal selamanya. setiap apa benda pun kalau kita dah dapat benda tu, lama2 pun akan jadi boring juga. dan kita akan cari pulak benda yg lain. lepas tu sekejap je dah boring balik. and the same goes on and on... |

imho, hanya orang kaya saja yang layak cakap duit bukan segala-galanya dan duit tak boleh beli kebahagiaan. sebab bagi orang kaya, kebahagiaan/happiness yang dia cari dah 'naik tangga' dari orang ...
Maslow's hieararchy of needs come to mind...
1. Physiological needs
2. Safety needs
3. Love/Belonging/Social needs
4. Esteem needs
5. Self-actualization
As much as I am nice, I have to tell that if your basic needs爀.g.爊o.5(self燼ctualizatuion)燼re not fulfilled, your monetary needs, bills, etc... are not fulfilled sufficiently, there is no way you can be a whole, spiritual,爏elf爁ulfilled燼nd燿eveloped爌erson.燳ou'll爋nly燽e燿eluding爕ourself.燚eluding爕ourself |

Of course. That, is the foundation of technological advancement.
“Flying is now as familiar as walking."
"But why?"
"Because someone was not content爅ust to walk."

happiness is a state of mind...there is nothing that can ensure happiness if u r not at peace or satisfied with what you hv
if ur happiness depends largely on the material stuff....then the things that you mention are the essence needed to guarantee u that
different ppl got a diff opinion on what happiness is all abt...ur definition for me is superficial
For me happiness is when...the ppl closest to me are happy...as I love to share the glow that radiate from them...when they are happy~ blissfull |

in todays world i would say, yes.. money does bring happiness for most people
i agree that people who are a lot richer always seem to have a better life. bill gates, warren buffet, abramovic ect.. people like them, who have powers, and obviously lots of money, may hardly find themselves in difficult circumstances in everyday life. richer family, with higher incomes, are generally happier with life. owns a big house, a swimming pool and all that.. with more money, parents can provide their children with the best education, buy them fancy clothes. make up a birthday party and invite all their friends. they can have everything in the world. there's nothing that couldn't be done. they already have all the basic things and needs. all they have to do is simply chose how to lead their life. for poor people, the lack of money always seems to be the problem. how will i eat? how will i support my family? how to pay my education fees? how to pay the bills and all those things...
"the lack of money creates unhappiness". so why wouldn抰 the opposite be true? money does bring happiness. |

that is what it seems to appear to the naked eyes ain't it? wealth equates to happiness?
what if I were to tell u that the more you hv..the more u hunger for something bigger to makes u feel happy? Is that the pursuit of happiness?
I met children who seems to hv the biggest fun of their lives...when I went back to Melaka..and u know what brings the smile to their faces? And old pokok kelapa branch...they were laughing away...and I bet u they hv as much fun as the boy with his newest PS3 gadget or any fancyful gadges that their well to do parents can afford
Truth of the matter is...u are happy with what is familiar to you...when u are poor (financial not well off) chances are your world are small but that does not take away all the happiness that the simple pleasure brings with it...coz u do not know better

"owns a big house, a swimming pool and all that.. with more money, parents can provide their children with the best education, buy them fancy clothes. make up a birthday party and invite all their friends. they can have everything in the world"
makes me wonder? :re:
what if I have lots of money? coz my parents gave me tons of it?
but they're too busy making money that they dont have enough time for me?
sitting by the swimming pool by myself as a child,
lives in a big house but often met with silence coz nobody waits for me whenever I come back from school,
having birthday parties with "selected" friends (most probably my parents' colleagues or associates children)
coming from a mid-class family with many siblings,
I dont think I'd want to live my life like that ..:re:
I'd probably be envious of other not-so-well-off kids who have their
parents hold their hands going to the pasar malam ...
or hear them talking abt foods that I do not know, yong taufu? jerangkung?
kuey-tiaw kerang? (unless if I ordered the maid to buy them for me from the pasar malam)
I'd miss my squabbles with my siblings over the dinner table,
I'd even miss my mom's nagging .. |

Happiness cannot be quantified. We maybe richer than our neighbour but who's to say that we're happier than them? |

I think the happiest moment I had was when I was a kid.
No worries, all I could think of was playing.
Really missed those moments.
Money can't buy those moments. |

Whatever happens to men and women of today?
Say what you wanna say. We're just little kids, pretending to be adults.

Money and possessions won't buy you happiness but it will definitely help you in achieving happiness.
I'll be very happy if I fall in love again. |

is happiness influenced by genes..
Genetik tentukan rasa gembira
"Tetapi kini, saintis akhirnya berjaya menemui komponen kegembiraan. Genetik kini menjadi jawapan kepada pembentukan personaliti seseorang dan ia boleh diwarisi dari satu generasi ke generasi seterusnya," jelas Weiss. - Agensi
susah sikit aku nak terima benda ni.. tapi tu according to study kat univ of edinburgh tu.. pada aku gene tu tak ada kena mengena dengan perasaan gembira dalam kehidupan... but then apa ke jadahnya research ni kata gene tentukan kita gembira.. pelik aku rasa... forummers setuju ke ni.. kalu setuju.. boleh la fahamkan aku ek.. al maklum aku hal dalam2 cam gini tak berapa reti.. yg obvious boleh aku faham sikit... sekolah tak tinggi mana aku ni.. |

nie pendapat i lah, dgn pengalaman berkeluarga dgn org yg "nampak cam tak happy"
ada manusia nie "pra-syarat" utk hidup terlalu komplikated, byk sgt syarat utk buat dia happy..dan gene komplikated nie memang diwarisi drp mak/ayah....depa tak happy sebab dapat naik kete, dia happy kalo kete dia ada 8 airbags....
camtu gak dgn pencapaian dia dlm hidup, ade org setakat dapat gaji n bekerja dah happy .... but for some people, satisfaction must come along with the money n power to make him ultimately happy person...maybe the father is somebody in public?... |
