Pendapat Marina Mahathir terhadap pengunaan nama Allah

a comment from somebody who's been to st catherine's monastery & a church in egypt, produced in verbatim:
Orthodox Christians which accounts for 10% of Egypt's population (circa 8 Million Christians) use "Allah" in defining their god. I've been to the very same St Catherine Monastery and even a famous church in Cairo. In the church the word "Allah" is scribed in arabic the same way Muslims do. Even their chanting and songs are in arabic the same way our nasyid is sang. Their holy bible is in arabic and has the word "allah" used throughout. Having being a minority in the 2nd most populous islamic country, Egypt has not restricted the christians to use Allah. I cannot understand what is the fuss of us letting the christians here in Malaysia using the word "Allah" in roman letters. It's not even in arabic. I would assume the muslims here in Malaysia has not travelled the world and open up their mind. They are easily disturbed by propaganda by some racist political party to fan up the issue. Shame on us.. |

bagi akulah perkara nie dapat dielak klu semua org bertolak ansur dan berfikiran positif pasal kalimah Allah nie klu kat sarawak mmg dah lama diorg pakai aku ada gak tanya mak aku sbb dier dulu pun kristian dier kata mmg dah lama perkataan tu Allah taala kat bible so bg aku menda yg Marina cakap ada betul nya sebab Allah bukan untuk kiter umat Islam sahaja Allah adalah milik semua umat manusia yg diciptakannya cuma cara kiter worship Allah berbeza dan pendapat aku gak maybe dalam umat kristian dah ada nabi Isa nak turun untuk menyeru umat nya kembali kejalan yg benar iaini menyembah Allah S.W.T penggunaan Allah boleh diguna oleh org kristian dan Islam sebab kedua-dua kitab injil dan Al-quran diturunkan oleh Allah so sebagai hamba Allah dimuka bumi kiter tiada hak untuk mempertikaikan sapa yg berhak menggunakan kalimah Allah dengan syarat haruslah menghormati kalimah tersebut dan percayai bahawa Allah adalah tuhan yang satu ..inilah pendapat aku dan sebarang komen nak marah ke aper ke aku tak kisah sebab inilah pendirian aku |

Hibiscus: The controversy regarding use of term 'Allah' by non-Muslims was started by Umno leaders using the Home Ministry. It is a recent invention to create the feeling among Muslims that they need Umno's protection. Statements by Umno leaders seem to be prompting Muslim voters to feel confused and threatened. The issue is even dividing PAS and this is in line with Umno's ploy.
The issue seems to be part of Umno's political strategy in readiness for the next general election. Umno is playing for high stakes - it is prepared to lose the votes of the non-Muslims and of other BN component parties and also to lose all their seats in constituencies where non-Muslims form the majority. All this in exchange for the Muslim vote.
That the other component parties of BN are strangely quiet attest to their agreement to Umno's plan. The strategy is to regain power, like in Perak, where Umno predominates on the government side in the state assembly while members of the other component parties are given minor posts. Umno is risking the well-being of country for its political plans. |
