Jail and rotan for Kadazandusun singer who raped his daughter

KOTA KINABALU: A popular Kadazandusun singer has been sentenced to 20 years' jail and 10 strokes of the rotan for raping his 20-year-old daughter.
The 42-year-old pleaded guilty before Sessions Court judge Ainul Shahrin Mohamad to raping his daughter at 9pm on Feb 25 in a car workshop in a village in Manggatal.
He was charged under Section 376(3) of the Penal Code, which carries a jail term of eight to 30 years and a whipping.
Based on facts tendered in court, police investigations revealed that the victim had been raped since she was 12.
The victim was afraid to report the attacks to her mother or police because the accused had threatened her with injury.
On Feb 28, the victim ran away from the family home and went to Good Shepherd Services home in Likas. A police report on the rapes was lodged on March 1.
She was then taken to Likas Hospital and the examination showed that there were old tears on her hymen.
The father was arrested on March 2.
In mitigating for lighter sentence, defence counsel Luke Ressa Balang said the father was remorseful and he had saved the court's time by pleading guilty.
He said his client was ashamed and the rape charge itself was punishment for the singer who is well-known in the local community.
However, DPP Akmalzatul Mohamed Nawi asked for a deterrent sentence, saying the crime was "a heinous act" committed against his own daughter.
"The victim carried the burden on her own because she was not allowed to tell anyone about the incident due to the threat posed by the accused," she said. |

Nama penyanyi ni John Moduli. Agak pemes di Sabah. Kat youtube ada lagu2 beliau.
Aku dah doakan rektum dan trakea heol pecah dirodok di penjara oleh pilak2 yang 70% menghuni penjara Sabah.
