Austrian Champions Salzburg Sack Lothar Matth鋟s
Former German international Lothar Matth鋟s was sacked as Red Bull Salzburg's co-coach.
Matth鋟s had been working with Giovanni Trappatoni for the past year, and had helped Salzburg run away to the Austrian title.
The association between the two goes some way back, with Trappatoni having coached Matth鋟s at Bayern Munich and Inter Milan, but relations had gradually deteriorated over the course of this season.
The 1990 World Cup winner had another year remaining on his contract, but the club decided to terminate his contract due to 'differences in philosophy'.
Read a statement on the club's website: 揇ifferences of philosophy meant that a good working relationship would not be sustainable in the long term. |

baca article kat the star hari nih.. betul gak apa yg Mario Basler cakap.. kalau si lembik tu gi mana2 pun next season he'll struggle.. ini seme akibat kebodohan sendiri.. belum apa2 dah jumpa ngan bayern officials.. |

Tomasson Closer To Stuttgart Exit
Danish striker Jon Dahl Tomasson抯 move away from Stuttgart is inching ever nearer.
Reports coming from Germany claim the 30 year old is on the verge of a move to either Greece or Spain with a concrete offer on the table from Olympiakos and interest from Villarreal.
The Dane is free to leave the German champions after trainer Armin Veh announced he played no part in his future plans.
Olympiakos originally showed an interest in Tomasson back in the winter but were snubbed by Stuttgart. Their interest hasn抰 cooled and the club are reportedly in discussions with both the player and Horst Heldt.
Also in the running for the former Milan striker are Villarreal, with whom the player spent 6 months on loan this season. He scored 4 goals in 11 games for the 慪ellow Submarines |

Bayern Munich's recruitment drive has continued as former star Ze Roberto has rejoined the club after one season in Brazil.
The 32-year-old spent four seasons at the Allianz Arena after four yeas at Bundesliga rivals Bayer Leverkusen, before moving to Brazilian outfit Santos following last year's World Cup.
However boss Ottmar Hitzfeld has re-signed the Brazil international midfielder as he looks to rebuild the squad following last season's woeful Bundesliga campaign.
The Bavarians failed to secure Champions League football after finishing fourth in the German top flight and have responded by bringing in a host of new faces for the 2007-2008 campaign.
Luca Toni, Franck Ribery, Marcell Jansen, Jose Ernesto Sosa, Jan Schlaudraff and Hamit Altintop have all been signed up and Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge was delighted to have secured the services of their former player for the challenge of regaining their status as Germany's number one side.

Bayern Munich president Franz Beckenbauer expects World Cup top-scorer Miroslav Klose to join the German giants by the end of the summer, it was revealed on Tuesday.
Bayern have been chasing the signature of 29-year-old Klose - who scored five goals at last year's World Cup - for months in a bid to boost their squad following their worst season in 11 years.
Having failed to secure a Champions League berth by finishing fourth in the Bundesliga, Bayern have splashed out a reported 57 million euros this summer on new signings including French midfielder Franck Ribery, Italian World Cup winning striker Luca Toni and German defender Marcell Jansen.
But they also want Klose to join them from Werder Bremen to further enhance their attack.
Klose has already insisted he will join Bayern when his current Bremen contract expires in June 2008, but Munich have tabled a reported ten million euros bid for the striker and are anxious to get him sooner.
Beckenbauer told German agency DPA he expects Klose to join them this summer and struggles to see how the forward - who has scored 33 goals for Germany in 69 appearances - can stay at Bremen next season if he has already pledged his future to Bayern.
"I can't imagine that anyone can keep a man like Klose at Bremen for one more year if he and everyone else knows he will be gone next year anyway. How could that happen?," said the German legend who won the World Cup as both a captain and a coach.
"I hope he will come this summer."
At the weekend, Bayern Munich chairman of the board Karl-Heinz Rummenigge insisted the club will not be dragged into a game of transfer poker with Bremen for Klose, especially if they will get him for free if they wait a year.
