Giggs demands team effort
Ryan Giggs feels the whole team needs to help replace the goals that Ruud van Nistelrooy's departure will likely leave.
Giggs, who scored the winner against Ajax in The Amsterdam Tournament on Saturday, feels to be a success as parts of the team need to supply a goal threat.
"When we were successful and winning leagues everyone contributed to the goal-scoring part," said Giggs.
"We didn't just rely on one person.
"Obviously Ruud scored a lot of goals for us but this season, I will have to chip in, Paul Scholes will have to chip in and so will everyone else.
"We also need to score more from set pieces because they can win you games.
"Who gets the goals does not really matter providing we are getting the results." |

Fergie in plea to Solskjaer
Sir Alex Ferguson feels Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should not contemplate a return to international football.
The veteran forward has put himself back into the first-team picture at Manchester United following a torrid time with injuries.
Solskjaer has looked sharp in pre-season and there have been suggestions he could play for Norway in their upcoming friendly against Brazil.
The 33-year-old admitted earlier in the summer that he had no plans to retire from representing country.
But his club boss Ferguson believes Solskjaer will be putting too much pressure on himself by playing for United, and Norway.
"Ole should concentrate on club football," said Ferguson.
"I am not saying that in a selfish way, I just feel it is difficult enough for him to complete a comeback as it is.
"To involve himself in, and focus on, international football at the age of 33, having been out for as long as he has, is asking too much."
Solskjaer has rediscovered his goalscoring touch in pre-season, but Ferguson remains keen to continue with a softly-softly approach to a loyal United servant.
He added: "Ole is looking fantastic at the moment.
"I am a bit surprised at the way he has come back because you get worried and anxious about any player in their 30s who suffers injuries like that.
"What we are trying to do now is ease him back in gradually.
"We have a plan mapped out for him and if he can keep clear of injury, his intelligence, movement and goalscoring ability would make him a fantastic addition to our squad." |

Fergie boosts Gers' Martin hopes
bagus budak neh
Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed Manchester United youngster Lee Martin could be heading north of the border.
Rangers' new manager Paul Le Guen is a fond admirer of the 19-year-old, who has been making a name for himself in United's youth team.
The Gers are eyeing a temporary deal for Martin and those hopes have been boosted by Ferguson's acknowledgement of his former club's interest.
Ferguson told the Glasgow Evening Times: "Paul [Le Guen] has spoken to me about two or three young players.
"Lee is an exceptionally talented young player and, if he is going out on loan again, we would like him to go to a club of some stature where he can develop further.
"I am still active in the transfer market and things might depend on who we get in.
"But it is a possibility and something could develop next week."
Le Guen admits he was impressed by Martin's performance in United's friendly victory over Celtic last week.
"I can confirm I have spoken to Sir Alex," said the Frenchman.
"It depends on a couple of things. I was very impressed with Martin against Celtic and my next conversation with Sir Alex will be determined by whether it can happen or not |

Amster damned
WAYNE ROONEY has been warned to calm down ? or face months on the sidelines.
Manchester United? coaching staff believe Rooney has now become a target for headline-grabbing referees.
The England striker was sent off in Friday? clash with Porto as United? pre-season trip to Amsterdam turned into a nightmare ? despite winning the tournament.
Paul Scholes was also dismissed against the Portuguese while Michael Carrick and Rio Ferdinand both came home from Holland crocked.
That adds to injury worries over Gary Neville and Gabriel Heinze.
All six could miss United? big Premiership kick-off at home to Fulham on Sunday week.
Roon, 20, could escape a ban if FA bosses back home believe his red card dished out by local referee Ruud Bossen was harsh.
But it is still the hothead hitman? THIRD dismissal in less than a year.
That is why United? staff have had to warn him about his conduct to avoid lengthy suspensions in future.
The latest red came for throwing an arm into Porto player Pepe? face as he jumped for a high ball.
But Old Trafford boss Alex Ferguson fears his star striker has become a trophy name for referees.
He said: ?ust before that a Porto player elbowed Ole Solskjaer and didn? even get a yellow card.
? did not see the difference between the two incidents ? except one player was called Wayne Rooney.? |
