LCR Honda confirms Playboy deal
The LCR Honda team has announced that Playboy will be its title sponsor at select events during the 2009 MotoGP season.
Lucio Cecchinello's satellite squad, which will field Randy de Puniet for a second season in 2009, has a history of punching above its weight in terms of attracting sponsors - but the Playboy deal is by far the most significant in the team's short MotoGP history.
The initial agreement with the Italian arm of the Playboy empire will see the bunny logo and branding present as title sponsor on LCR's RC212V during this weekend's Jerez test and then rounds two and three of the world championship, at Motegi (Japan) and back at Jerez (Spain). Playboy will not to be present at the Qatar season-opener on April 12.
After round three, Cecchinello hopes to secure further title sponsorship on a race-by-race basis.
揥e have been in touch with Playboy US for a long time and, taking advantage of the opportunity given by the presence of some American top executives part of Hugh Hefner entourage during his latest visit to Europe, we have defined the guidelines of a project allowing us to start negotiations with some of this evergreen brand's global licensees, |

Bagaimanapun, Stoner percaya bukan hanya Rossi bakal menjadi pencabar utamanya ketika dua penunggang Suzuki, Chris Vermeulen dan Loris Capirossi, mampu mencuri kesempatan.
Rossi, turut berdepan masalah kecergasan, walaupun masalahnya agak pelik apabila insiden terjatuh ketika memasang langsir di rumahnya menyebabkan lengannya terpaksa dijahit.
- AFP

Qatar MotoGP postponed til Monday
Eurosport - Mon, 13 Apr 00:04:00 2009
Torrential rain caused the season-opening Qatar MotoGP to be postponed, with officials saying the race will be run on Monday instead.
Monsoon-like conditions, accompanied by swirling, high winds, arrived just moments before Australia's Casey Stoner, on pole position, was due to lead defending world champion Valentino Rossi, Britain's James Toseland (pictured) and the other riders away on the warm-up lap.
"It's just unlucky with the weather," said Australian Ducati rider Stoner, the 2007 world champion, bidding for a third successive win here.
"It can be a good idea or it can be a bad idea to race on Monday. A lot of money has been spent on keeping people here at a time when we are trying to cut costs. It's disappointing it's happened like this."
Earlier, the 250cc race, which was won by Spain's Hector Barbera, on an Aprilia, had been cut from 20 to 13 laps and delayed by 40 minutes.
Italy's Andrea Iannone was declared the winner of the 125cc race which was halted after only four of the scheduled 18 laps as torrential rain flooded the desert circuit.
Ironically, it only rains on an average of eight days a year in Doha, but wet conditions also disrupted Friday's practice sessions.
