Ghana youth midfielder Mumuni Abubakar has expressed satisfaction with his two-week trial with English giants Liverpool and believes his performances could earn him a move to the Premiership club during the winter transfer window.
The 18-year old New Edubiase defensive midfielder, who was voted 2010 Premier League Player of the Year by the Sports Writers Association of Ghana, believes he impressed the Liverpool technical team in training during his two-week stint with Kenny Dalglish's side.
"They were impressed by my performances during training and the match that I played. The technical team like my style of play, so hopefully they will sign me," the New Edubiase United skipper told Joy Sports.
"When you go to trials, they talk to your agent and not you the player. Liverpool is talking with my agent (Oliver Arthur) now. They're impressed with my performances so we should get a favourable response."
Abubakar, whose unblemished disciplinary record and performance for New Edubiase in the 2010/11 League season where he didn't receive a single red-card, was spotted by scouts of Liverpool in November last year while on tour with Ghana's in Italy where he impressed in a friendly against Serie A side Parma.
If the move falls through, Abubakar will be the first Glo Premier League player to directly move to the English Premiership. |

Sky Sports understands Liverpool have handed a two-week trial to Swedish teenager Abdul Aziz, who has been dubbed the 'baby Didier Drogba'.
The 14-year-old, who was born in Sierra Leone, has an excellent scoring record for his club ISK Norkopping and with the Sweden Under-15 national team.
Manchester United and City had both been watching the youngster, but have been caught napping by their north west rivals who moved swiftly to land Aziz on a trial.
His arrival at Anfield represents a real coup for Liverpool as Aziz is viewed as one of the biggest talents to emerge from Sweden in a generation.
Kenny Dalglish is committed to bringing the best talent from Europe and England to Anfield, as he lays the foundations for a new era of success.
Over the past 18 months the Merseyside club have snared some of the most highly-rated teenagers in the country in Raheem Sterling, Jordon Ibe and Seyi Ojo. |

Liverpool are showing interest in FC Groningen striker David Texeira reports the Daily Mail.
The 20-year-old Uruguayan has been in scintillating form in the Dutch Eredivisie, netting seven goals in 12 league games.
Reds boss Kenny Dalglish has been alerted to Texeira's potential, and is believed to be considering an attempt to bring him to Anfield this month.
Liverpool legend Bruce Grobbelaar revealed last week that his former club were on the verge of signing a new striker - a South American who is playing in Holland - and Texeira fits the bill.
Interestingly, Texeira has taken a similar career path to compatriot and Liverpool favourite Luis Suarez, starting from their place of birth, in Salto, Uruguay.
Texeira joined Groningen last August, ironically Suarez's first European club, and if rumours are to be believed, the talented striker could be about to follow in his footsteps again by completing a move to Anfield. |

Tottenham supremo Daniel Levy will ask Liverpool to pay a staggering ￡20million for Jermain Defoe.
Defoe has emerged as a shock target for the Reds, who are looking for a new signing to solve his goalscoring problems - as the Mirror revealed .
However, insiders close to the deal reveal that hard-bargaining Levy is looking for twice the ￡10m fee being mentioned on Merseyside as Defoe is rated much higher in the current market.
Spurs were quoted a stunning ￡22m by Marseille for Frenchman Loic Remy, a valuation that has put off Levy and forced him to hike up the prices on his own players.
Levy also rates Roman Pavyuchenko in the ￡17m class, despite his infrequent appearances in Harry Redknapp's side.
However, Liverpool's interest in Defoe could yet see Spurs sign a striker and sell if they can bring in one and let out another in the last fortnight of the market.

Sky Sports understands a number of clubs are waiting in the wings to make a move for Blackburn defender Scott Dann before the transfer window closes.
Blackburn are already struggling to keep hold of wantaway defender Chris Samba and it is believed they risk losing Dann this month as well.
The possible departure of Samba could spark a bidding war for Dann with club's hoping to capitalise on Blackburn's troubles by making a move for the highly-rated central defender.
Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish is keen on being reunited with Dann having worked with the 24-year-old during his time in charge of Birmingham.
McLeish is looking to bolster his defensive options with the likes of James Collins and Richard Dunne both linked with moves away from Villa Park.
Dann is thought to be McLeish's top target and it is thought he could be willing to offer Blackburn Collins plus cash to try and strike a deal for Dann with Welsh international Collins already on Blackburn's list of targets should they lose either Dann or Samba this month.
Arsenal and Liverpool are also thought to be monitoring developments at Ewood Park with both clubs keen on Dann before his switch to Blackburn last summer.
Both clubs expressed an interest in Dann last summer, but with the player having missed the second half of last season with a hamstring problem they had reservations over his fitness.
Dann has recovered from the hamstring problem and has made 11 starts for Blackburn this season priot to picking up a groin problem just before the busy festive period.
However, Dann has recovered from the groin injury and is set to return to the Blackburn side for the trip to Everton this weekend after returning to full training and clubs are set to watch the former England Under 21 at Goodison Park.
Reds boss Kenny Dalglish is thought to be a long-term admirer of Dann and was keen on signing him before Liverpool director of football Damien Commoli pushed for a move for Sebastian Coates. |

Swansea are bracing themselves for a double raid from Liverpool with Kenny Dalglish keen on Scott Sinclair and Joe Allen.
Brendan Rodgers' pass masters have been a revelation in the Premier League this season, with several of those who shone in the Championship making a seamless transition into the top flight.
Chief to that has been Allen, who's sensible use of the ball has seen him record the highest pass completion rate of anyone in Europe's big leagues - beating the likes of Barcelona duo Xavi and Andreas Iniesta.
The 21-year-old Wales international has been with the Swans since he was nine and signed a new deal with the club at the start of their first Premier League season.
Manager Rodgers is desperate to keep hold of the core of his team and Liverpool are understood to be biding their time over a move for Allen.
The same can't be said for Sinclair with the Reds already tabling a ￡5million bid for the player.
The former Chelsea man's pace has been one of the most devastating aspects of Swansea's rise into the top half of the table, and he, like Allen, fit the young British mould favoured by Dalglish.
Sinclair has proved himself capable of coping at the highest level, too, showing a cool head of penalty duty, most recently against Arsenal. |

Akhiri kemarau jaringan: Dalglish
LIVERPOOL: Pengurus Liverpool, Kenny Dalglish menuntut anak buahnya segera membuang badi kemarau jaringan selepas mereka terus hilang cengkaman perebutan empat pasukan terbaik apabila seri tanpa jaringan dengan Stoke, Sabtu lalu.
Keputusan tujuh seri dalam 11 perlawanan di Anfield menyebabkan Liverpool menduduki tangga kelima liga, lima mata di belakang Chelsea di tempat keempat dan mungkin terlepas berpeluang beraksi dalam Liga Juara-Juara musim depan.
Kelemahan bahagian serangan selepas Luis Suarez digantung perlawanan dan Andy Carroll pula beraksi hambar selepas setahun berpindah dari Newcastle menjadi punca Reds hanya menyumbat 24 gol dalam 21 perlawanan liga.
Suarez yang kini sudah mengharungi separuh penggantungannya kerana mengeluarkan kata-kata berbaur perkauman ke atas Patrice Evra adalah penjaring terbanyak dengan lima gol musim ini. Penyerang veteran, Craig Bellamy empat gol manakala tidak ada pemain lain yang berjaya menjaringkan lebih dua gol.
“Hantaran bola ke dalam kotak penalti semakin bagus cuma kami perlu lebih tajam memanfaatkan peluang,” kata Dalglish.
“Kami berjaya menguasai permainan namun gagal menghasilkan gol,” tambah pengendali dari Scotland itu yang mengakui pasukannya kurang kreatif.
Carroll menegaskan meskipun hanya menghasilkan enam gol dalam 33 penampilan, dia yakin boleh membalas kepercayaan Dalglish.
“Penyokong memberikan sokongan padu sejak datang ke sini dan saya gembira kerana kembali menjaringkan gol ketika menewaskan Oldham dalam perlawanan Piala FA,” katanya.

ANFIELD - Penyerang Liverpool, Andy Carroll menegaskan, dia mampu membalas kepercayaan yang diberikan pengurus, Kenny Dalglish apabila tiba masanya nanti.
Bekas penyerang Newcastle United itu berkata, kepercayaan tersebut akan dibalas dengan menjaringkan gol penting Liverpool dalam usaha membantu pasukan tersebut melayakkan diri ke Liga Juara-Juara musim depan.
"Saya yakin akan memperoleh semula sentuhan gol, terutamanya selepas menjaringkan gol baru-baru ini (ketika menentang Oldham di pusingan ketiga Piala FA).
"Saya berharap akan dapat melakukannya, terutamanya untuk mencapai impian Liverpool ke saingan Eropah yang masih terbuka dengan luas," katanya.
Setakat ini, penyerang berusia 23 tahun yang dibeli pada Januari tahun lalu itu hanya mampu menjaringkan enam gol daripada 31 penampilan dengan Liverpool.
"Kami bermain dengan baik apabila bertemu pasukan yang kuat. Malah, prestasi di tempat lawan juga baik.
"Cuma kami kadangkala terpaksa bergelut apabila bermain di tempat sendiri dan bertemu pasukan bawahan," tegasnya.
Liverpool akan bertandang ke Bolton pada aksi Liga Perdana England, Sabtu ini dalam usaha memperbaiki kedudukan selepas sekadar seri tanpa jaringan dengan Stoke City, Sabtu lalu. - Agensi |
