Savatage
Savatage is a heavy metal/ progressive metal band founded by the brothers Jon and Criss Oliva in 1979. The band is known for recording many concept albums. Although they are currently considered a progressive power metal band, their origins could be attributed to Thrash and even Death metal as expressed by their debut album, Sirens.

Pronounced "dim-moo bore-gear", the Dimmuborgir is a large area of unusually shaped lava fields east of Lake M齰atn, on Iceland. The Dimmuborgir area is composed of various caves and rock formations. It would seem that this has been formed from a lava-lake, out of which molten lava flowed and left behind strange formations. The most famous cave being Kirkjan - the Church - high with a large gothic style vault. Dimmu=foggy/dark, Borgir=castle/fortress.
Dimmu Borgir is a melodic black metal band hailing from Norway. Shagrath, Silenoz and Tjodalv initiated the band in 1993. Shortly after, Brynjard Tristan joined to play bass, and Stian Aarstad joined for keyboard duties. Dimmu Borgir was born. They are a band which success is measured with such bands as Emperor, Kreator and Cradle of Filth. I will without a doubt say that Dimmu Borgir is the best black metal band in the world today (webmaster's comment).

HammerFall was founded by Oscar Dronjak (guitar) in 1993. He enlisted his friend Jesper Str鰉blad and later Joacim Cans (vocals) to create the songs for and record the legendary Glory To The Brave album. Since Jesper and two more members decided to concentrate on their other bands, Joacim and Oscar were left to replace the entire line-up even before the album was released. Stefan (guitar), Magnus (bass) and Patrik R鋐ling (drums) was brought into the fold, and Glory To The Brave became the album the metal scene needed and was waiting for: straight, hard-hitting songs that instantly became hymns and made everybody talk about the band. Although it was a hard period for metal, HAMMERFALL entered the German charts on position #38 and made everybody feel the power of heavy metal music once more. 揂 metal heart is hard to tear apart, |
