Yup, and some people tak boleh nak faham kenapa it is subjective.  At least letak la qualification ke apa.

Pothole plague: rain-damaged roads trigger thousands of calls for help

By Catherine NaylorJuly 22, 2022 — 5.00am

Almost 10,000 drivers across NSW have found themselves stranded with a damaged wheel or tyre this month after widespread rain caused more than $1.5 billion worth of damage to roads.
Canterbury Bankstown roads have triggered 468 calls to the NRMA for tyre or wheel damage — the most in Sydney during July. Central Coast roads were the worst performers in the state, triggering 589 calls for assistance. Central Coast Council said it had repaired 54,000 potholes on its roads since March.

Potholes are a key cause of wheel and tyre damage. Between March and the end of June, Transport for NSW repaired 65,000 potholes on state-managed roads in regional NSW and 10,000 in Greater Sydney. That is on top of the potholes repaired by councils on their own road networks. Metropolitan Roads Minister Natalie Ward said each wet weather event was worsening the damage and making it harder for crews to get out and repair the roads.
The number of potholes in regional NSW has increased by 74 per cent compared to last year, prompting renewed calls for the state government to ease the burden on local councils and take on a greater share of the road maintenance bill.

“You just have to drive along any street at the moment and there are potholes everywhere,” Local Government NSW president Darriea Turley said. “The extreme weather means roads and road maintenance has become the biggest single item in council budgets.”
Councils are responsible for maintaining 90 per cent of the state’s roads, according to Turley, but the state government promised to take over responsibility for 15,000 kilometres of local roads before the 2019 election. Turley said the government was yet to meet its promise and the rain had made it more urgent that it do so.

The rain and flooding in February and March alone caused $1.3 billion of damage to local roads, according to Resilience NSW, and $250 million of damage to state-operated roads. The damage from the latest rain and flooding is still being assessed.
“Councils all over the state will need additional support from government to ensure that roads are not just simply rebuilt, but are able to withstand future disasters,” Turley said.

Masalahnya dia kata, Malaysia dek. Kalau Malaya saja boleh la aku terima pujiaan maha hagong ni. Kau pernah masuk area Pedalaman 1, Pedalaman 2, Pedalaman 3 kat Borneo dek? Pernah? Jika belom usah la menghagungkan sangat kualiti jalan tanahair ini thorbaik top 21 di dunia yach. Walaupun keadaan sekarang jauh lagik baik daripada 15 tahun lepas di Borneo ini (terima kasih Pak Lah dan Najib), tapi still the roads are very much in a syaiton-like condition boleh buat ko berdosa menyumpah2 sepanjang melalui so called jalanraya itu yach.

Iya la aku tau la. Tapi takkan jalanraya pedalaman New Zealand tu jauh lagik teruk dari jalanraya pedalaman 3 di Sabah? Nak membongak pun hagak2 la aku syak tak pernah pun meka pi Borneo ni buat kajian. Tertumpu di Semenanjung saja rasanya kajian ini. Paling teruk jalanraya aku pernah masuk masa di Semenanjung, jalanraya pi kawasan kampung Orang Asli saja. Tu pun level Pedalaman 1 kat Sabah ni saja.

Setuju juga....

Highway malaysia siap ada tukang sapu lagi, sini tak pernah nampak.

Highway oklah tapi jalan kampung another story juga.
Me duduk kat pulau, jalan kecil aje 2 line. Orang dulu fikir hanya keta kuda aje kot lalu so kecil jalan....

Lepas tu rumah dekat gila dengan jalan nak nak jalan yang dah beratus tahun tu.

Since you insist nak juga tepek pasal article ni, i suggest you baca sekali ye dek.  This article cerita pasal jalan kat sana severe damaged since hujan berterusan dan banjir in feb and march tahun ini di NSW and council derang tengah baiki semua potholes tu.

Siap looking into a solution lagi "that roads are not just simply built, but are able to withstand future disasters".  Kat malaysia, dia panggil contractor yg duk la tampal esok mendap lagi. Panggil lagi same contractor tampal lagi bila org complain.
