KOTA KINABALU, Oct 8 — Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Hajiji Mohd Noor is under a 14-day quarantine after coming into close contact with Covid-19 patients.
The Sulaman assemblyman released a statement today saying he was voluntarily undergoing quarantine but assured Sabahans that this would not disrupt his administration.
“The state government will function as usual and any meeting that needs to be carried out will be done via video conferencing,” he said.
Hajiji was sworn in as Sabah’s 16th chief minister on September 28 after the informal Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) coalition won the state election two days prior.
After naming half his Cabinet, the remainder was left till today. They were sworn in at a low-key, little publicised ceremony which saw five new ministers, 18 new assistant ministers and four politicians receiving their letters of appointment to be nominated assemblymen.
One of the nominated assemblymen — PAS secretary Dr Aliakbar Gulasan — is a controversial choice as the conservative Islamist party has never won a seat in any Sabah state election.
After being in close contact with Covid-19 patients, they took the initiative to undergo 14-day quarantine. This is responsible for themselves and the people. I hope that our minister will be in good health. Look at the leaders of other countries. They were discharged from the hospital three days after the diagnosis. This speed is really fast. I don't know if they have special medicine or have super resistance? |

Rome: Zlatan Ibrahimovic mungkin akan terlepas beraksi perlawanan seteru setempat bulan ini selepas kelabnya, AC Milan mengumumkan bintang veteran Sweden itu sekali lagi positif Covid-19.
Ibrahimovic yang menjalani tempoh kuarantin dua minggu lalu selepas disahkan positif kali pertama, perlu memperoleh keputusan negatif sebanyak dua kali sebelum boleh kembali bersama pasukan yang akan bertemu Inter di San Siro 17 Oktober ini.
Pertahanan Brazil, Leo Duarte yang didapati negatif pada ujian terakhir, turut meneruskan proses kuarantin. Barisan kesemua pemain adalah negatif, kata kelab itu.
Seteru setempat, Inter juga berdepan kes positif Covid-19 dengan kelab itu mengumumkan pemain tengah, Radja Nainggolan dan Roberto Gagliardini didapati positif.
Dua kes itu dikesan sehari selepas pertahanan Slovakia, Milan Skriniar dan pemain bawah 21 tahun Itali, Alessandro Bastoni kembali ke kelab dengan status positif selepas menyertai skuad kebangsaan masing-masing.
Kali pertama Ibrahimovic didapati positif adalah pada 24 September dan dia menerusi akaun Twitter miliknya berkata: "Covid mempunyai keberanian mencabar saya. Idea yang buruk."
Pemain berusia 39 tahun itu sejak itu memuat naik video di media sosial sedang menjalani latihan di rumah.
Ibrahimovic melanjutkan kontrak bersama Milan selama setahun selepas beraksi sepanjang enam bulan musim lalu. |
