(Reuters) - Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are engaged to marry, a spokeswoman for Pitt said on Friday.

"Yes, it's confirmed. It is a promise for the future and their kids are very happy. There's no date set at this time," Pitt's spokeswoman Cynthia Pett-Dante told Reuters.

Jolie was photographed this week wearing a large diamond ring on her engagement finger. Pitt and Jolie have been a couple since 2005, and are raising six children together, but they have never married.

Angelina Jolie’s father is thrilled about her engagement to Brad Pitt.

The Hollywood couple – who raise six children together Maddox, 10, Pax, eight, Zahara, seven, Shiloh, five, and Knox and Vivienne, three, together – confirmed Friday that Brad has popped the question to his partner of seven years and Angelina’s father Jon Voight couldn’t be happier for the pair.

He told US Weekly: "I'm very happy for them."

Pitt, 48, dan Jolie, 36, mempunyai enam orang anak bersama-sama.

"Anak-anak mereka amat gembira," kata Pett-Dante lagi.

Tukang emas, Robert Procop telah bersama-sama dengan Pitt untuk mereka bentuk cincin.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie may reunite on the silver screen in the Ridley Scott-directed flick, The Counselor.

Michael Fassbender is already locked into the project and now Brad Pitt and Javier Bardem are thisclose to joining as well.

Deadline reports that Angelina Jolie is in discussions to play the female lead, sexually charged femme fatale Malkina.

The Counselor, which will kick off production late June, follows an attorney (Fassbender), who is in search of a big payday after he proposes to his girlfriend, Laura.
