Cannavaro Defends Award, Tips Puyol, Ramos:pmuka: As Future Contenders
Ballon d'Or Winner Fabio Cannavaro refuted claims that his winning was down to luck, and suggested that other defenders such as Carles Puyol or Sergio Ramos could win the award in the future.
"Many people think it is by chance [that I won the award], because my displays when I came to Real Madrid were not the same as during the World Cup," said Cannavaro.
" eople watch some World Cup games, and then argue that my displays have always been poor since. But I have had many good games with Real Madrid. It [my display] was not good against Lyon, but I was also a little injured.

He then went on to speak about who could win in the future: "uyol is strong and good. Sergio Ramos :cak: has many good qualities. There are many defenders who can win, but they must be lucky enough to win the World Cup and the League, and always be at their best."
Finally, he went on to say that he was looking to settle in completely at Real Madrid, and regain his top form. "It is normal [that you need time] when you change your team and city, but I am very happy at Real Madrid."
