Riquelme Backing Senna Move

Villareal playmaker Juan Roman Riquelme has backed Marcos Senna抯 proposed move to Manchester United. The Argentina star, one of the best players on view at the World Cup finals, revealed during the tournament that Sir Alex Ferguson had tabled a sizeable offer for his services. With the Yellow Submarines determined to retain their star man, United have looked instead to his industrious team-mate as an option to help solve Ferguson抯 midfield problems. One player who appears destined for Old Trafford is the West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak. The Pole was left out of Albion's squad at Cardiff City last night, with the West Brom manager Bryan Robson admitting he expected Kuszczak's situation to be clarified within the next 24 hours. |

Reds To Lose Kuszczak To City
Manchester City aim to pinch Tomasz Kuszczak from under the noses of bitter rivals United. Old Trafford chief Alex Ferguson has had three bids for the Polish keeper turned down by West Brom in the last month. The latest shock name to be linked with United is Brazilian striker Adriano.
With Hernan Crespo back at the San Siro after leaving Chelsea, Inter Milan are apparently willing to release the Brazilian from their bank of strikers.
And he isn't alone in capturing United's interest. Fernando Torres is allegedly still the subject of interest from United and Chelsea despite insisting that he will stay in Spain for another season.
Two other names thrown into the ring by the rumour-mongers are that of Argentine hot property Carlos Tevez and Dirk Kuyt, van Nistelrooy's international heir-apparent.
Tevez is tipped to leave Corinthians following a spat with the club's fans, while Kuyt is now being linked with United after a summer of stories mooting a move to Liverpool.
Despite the sale of van Nistelrooy, however, another midfielder is also a priority for Sir Alex Ferguson following the arrival of Michael Carrick. Villarreal's Marcos Senna is the name most frequently linked, with talks allegedly underway to secure a switch to United.
