lippi coach baru italy? congrats to italia and all the fans. semoga lippi akan mengubah senario yang ditinggalkan trat tenuk pakai lampin. welkam to all new forumner, walaupun aku akadang2 je post, tapi aku pun tak penah miss baca thread2 pasai italia futbol. viva italiano, forza juventus.

Andrea Pirlo has admitted that his commitments with AC Milan could mean he has to turn down the chance to play for Italy in next month's Olympic Games.

The 25-year-old midfielder is one of five over-age players in Claudio Gentile's provisional 30-man squad for Athens, and he was expected to fill one of three allotted places for players over the age of 23 in the final 18-man party.

But with Milan likely to be competing strongly for Serie A and Champions League glory in the coming season, coach Carlo Ancelotti is anxious that one of his most important players does not run out of steam.

Pirlo said: "I spoke to Gentile first and I told him that I would happily go to Athens, but then Ancelotti called me.

"He pointed out all the problems relating to the different preparation I would do with the national team and the excessive number of games I would have to play."

Pirlo has 11 senior caps for Italy and would provide class and experience to the Italian midfield in Athens.

But he is arguably Milan's most important player, and it is understandable that Ancelotti does not wish to risk him sustaining a serious injury at the Games.

The former Inter Milan and Brescia player has now decided to leave the two coaches to resolve the matter between themselves.

"I realise that it is quite a mess, and I have told [Gentile and Ancelotti] to speak to each other and reach an agreement," Pirlo told Italian newspaper Il Giornale.

"But I would be pleased to go to the Olympics; we did poorly in Sydney four years ago and I would like to have the chance to put that right."
