Woman who was hit by van at Cameron Highlands market dies
IPOH: One of the two women who were seriously injured when a van rammed into them at the Golden Hill pasar malam in Tanah Rata, Cameron Highlands has died.
Cameron Highlands OCPD Deputy Supt Hasadid A. Hamid said the 52-year-old woman, who was transferred to the Batu Pahat Hospital in Johor, succumbed to her injuries at about 8.40am Tuesday.
"A post-mortem was conducted and the victim died due to injuries to her head," he said in a statement.
"The other 22-year-old victim from Kuala Lumpur who suffered a broken leg will be discharged," he said.
In the Sunday incident at about 9.45pm, a van ploughed through several stalls at the night market, killing a three-year-old girl.
The two women were seriously injured during the incident and were warded at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital here.
DSP Hasadid said the van driver, 30, is being remanded until Thursday.
The case is being investigated for reckless or dangerous driving causing death. |
