Ha tu laa.. tak bley convert itu marine band punya lesen. Orang pandai kena buat2 tak pandai mcm ham la.. keke jgn mare. Morse fun gak.. tapi kalau ghamai2 belajar mcm skolah tadika lagi fun.. sampai mata juling. And yes, most probably tada abolish itu Morse, so kalau nak Helloooo World (bukan Mawi eh), still kena study itu Morse. Bab kertas soklan lepas-lepas ni itu hari memang ada tapi sudah dipinjamkan.. akan dicari balik kalau ada yang mahu, tapi se eloknya join club, diaorng banyak material. Myself study benda susah nak paham ni (kapasitor, transistor, resistor and elevator dan sewaktu dengannya) lebih baik ber SIFU......

Can't comment on the rig. I have not used any Yaesu b4. Niceghost, Jaja and the rest could be able to help you. But I think it should be OK. Why not considering iCom? I am using one of them and very pleased. Try look for iCom R5.
However, 2 me what important is the ease of use and must be computer programmable. Just imagine that u are to programme 1000 channels in 10 banks. You gonna get sore fingers.
It is very expensive to get cloning cable from oversea but you can always build one with the diagram from the internet.
I am using a modified panasonic T191 programming cable to clone my iCom rig. However, I could not build a cable for my radioshack. They just could not work. So I got to pay dearly when I ordered my Radioshack cable.
However, search the net and look for the reviews ect. b4 deciding on which model to get. Once you get a rig... I will try to help you with the freq..... |

Hi Megasuria,
Was looking forward for your posting . I am supposed to try the unit out first before buying. Please help with the frequency. Asked the seller, He only mentioned that you can tuned in if you know the freq coz yaesu range from 0.1Mhz-1300Mhz. Your help is on the freq is very much appreciated. Also on aircraft etc.Thanks and looking forward on your reply. |

Want to listen to aircraft ah?? I am not sure la.. biasa sgt dengan amateur radio aje coz mine just boleh dengar (and transmit) from 130Mhz to 150Mhz gitu... so tak la advance sgt.. see if www.abang9m2sy.blogspot.com boleh tolong anda.. And yes, I really miss talking on air but haiya my handy dekat orang lerr and my mobile rig dah detach dari kereta... |

The modes are all AM, except some are USB.

Most of the communication di SSB (single side band) are Upper Side Band (right?). X tau le samada ada lagi freq. yang tersimpan dalam my Sony ICF 2001D. Tapi kalau adapun mungkin dah x le pakai. Tapi I if remember correctly most of them are USB...
Entah le teman pun dah lupa. Was it 7040 LSB? (D malaysian amateur was always on this freq). Susah nak ingat le. Dah tue dah..
Anyway.. Most of the hand held receivers do not have SSB function. Even if they do, you gonna get a very long wire antenna to be able to receive them.... Kalau dapat receive pakai rubber duckie...dalam mimpi aje kot... Entah le teman pun x tau sebab teman punya rig tak dapat receive SSB. Komen sikit Hantu..........

SEbab yg teman belajor......SSB nie consists either LSB or USB.
Cause they carrying the same signal.
So, rather then congested the frequencies........sebab tu deme ambik either one.
Its all the same to me.......so we just call it SSB.
The only diffent is how ur send the signal.
It can be PM, FM or AM.
Abt the antenna.......pernah dengar tak DUMMY ANTENNA?
Dulu ada gak teman belajor....cara2 utk shorten the antenna. :hmm:

Tq Hantu. I pon selalu ingat SSB ni sama aje. Kalau sound dia macam donald duck 2, boleh cuba try tengok samada SSB can make d voice bole paham. Kalau tidak entah le. Idak le teman tau.......
Jaja I know that you're very busy but hopefully you could chip in here. All the while I know that Dummy antenna is normaly used for transmitting. I x tau pulak samada bole guna untuk receiving..f Apa yang I tahu you gunakan dummy ni 2gether dgn SWR meter supaya tak overloaf your rig - for testing.. Betul ke?
With a long wire, you got to use ATU (Antenna Tuning Unit) so that you could optimally tune across the band. Kalau u just berminat untuk satu freq saja gunakan panjang wire yang fixed. Ada formula dia - 2834/freq. in Mhz = panjang in inch (?). Yang ni teman dah lupa. Betoi ke formula ni. Tolong sikit bagi yang terror dalam hal ni. Terutama Hantu & Jaja...
Mungkin ZZzali boleh lupakan untuk monitor police/fire etc. Malaysian police is very advance. Sekarang ni diorang gunakan digital - tak main le pakai walkie talkie biasa.. Kadang2 bole dengar but most of the time just white noise. This makes scanning very frustrating... So lupakan utk monitor polis...(X baik tau.......)
Fire - try monitor just below the ham band (140-144 Mhz). I think KL fire dah guna trunking dah (800 Mhz)..Ari tu booming in my radioshack. Anybody can confirm this? I pon dah lama x on my scanner. Ingatkan 2-3 hari ni nak panaskan balik.............
Ambulance. Entah. X pernah dengar pon........
