Liverpool Want £30M Rated Spaniard to Cover for Suarez - Report
Liverpool have joined the race to sign Swansea City star striker Michu, according to the Mirror. The report states Reds manager Brendan Rodgers will move for the 26-year-old if he fails to sign Chelsea forward Daniel Sturridge.
The forward was valued at £30m by Swans manager Michael Laudrup but the Mirror believes a bid of £10m could be enough to persuade chairman Huw Jenkins.
Liverpool were recently also linked with Serie A club Napoli's Argentine striker Mauro Zarate and have been consistently linked with Arsenal contract rebel Theo Walcott. The 23-year-old England international is in the final year of his deal with the Emirates club and, like Sturridge, he is negotiating for a pay rise and a guaranteed central attacking role.  |

Alexis Sanchez has had interest from Liverpool

LIVERPOOL are set to launch a bid for Alexis Sanchez by scoping out the player on his home turf.
Manager Brendan Rodgers has sent scouts to Barcelona to check out the Chilean midfielder in action.
Though Liverpool are understood to be in the market for a forward, midfield is one department they need to strengthen especially as the likes of Steven Gerrard and Jonjo Shelvey need support in terms of supplying service to main talisman Luis Suarez.
Sanchez has become a bit part player at Camp Nou this season, with the majority of his La Liga appearances coming from the subs bench.
Spanish football site Mundo Deportivo understands that Barcelona may be reluctant to sell Sanchez.
But this isn’t the first time Liverpool have attempted to do business with the Catalan giants. They tried to court highly-rated winger Cristian Tello before he ended up snubbing a move to Anfield.
Sanchez has scored only one this season for Barcelona and that was in the Champions League group stages during their 2-0 win away against Benfica. |

Alonso wants to end career at Anfield
There were cheers of joy from Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern after Daily Star journalist Steve Millar claimed that Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso might return to Liverpool in the near future.
According to Millar, Alonso is keen to end his playing days back at his beloved Liverpool and with the 31-year-old’s value quickly depreciating, the Spanish side appear ready to let him leave before his contract expires in 2014.
The report suggests that Alonso has a strong desire to link up again with Steven Gerrard who remains a close friend.
Alonso recently said about Gerrard: “He was a great influence. I learnt a lot from him. We are friends are keep in touch. He is so inspirational.”
The Spaniard enjoyed a memorable five year spell at Anfield, playing a huge part in the team famously clinching the Champions League in 2005 and fans would love to see him return.
However Alonso’s dream may be scuppered by new Reds boss Brendan Rodgers who is unlikely to pay out the large wages necesaary or large enough a transfer fee for a player reaching the twilight of his professional career.

LONDON - Liverpool bersedia menjadikan penyerang Chelsea, Daniel Sturridge sebagai pemain mereka dengan yuran perpindahan 12 juta pound (RM59 juta).
Pengurusnya, Brendan Rodgers juga penuh yakin The Kop mampu menambah seorang lagi rekrut, Tom Ince dari Blackpool dengan harga enam juta pound (RM29.5 juta).
Anak kepada legenda England, Paul Ince itu sebenarnya adalah bekas pemain remaja Liverpool yang meninggalkan Anfield 18 bulan lalu, ketika itu pada yuran hanya 250,000 pound (RM1.23 juta).
Rundingan untuk mendapatkan dua pemain tersebut sudah mencapai peringkat lanjut dan Rodgers terdesak untuk melengkapkan urusan perpindahan berganda itu secepat mungkin apabila tempoh perpindahan pemain dibuka bulan depan.
Sturridge, 23, berminat untuk berpindah ke Anfield kerana kurang gembira di Chelsea kerana sering diturunkan pada posisi sayap, sedangkan dia lebih berkesan sebagai penyerang tengah.
