United players in Tevez stay plea
Wantaway striker Carlos Tevez is being urged to stay on at Old Trafford by his Manchester United teammates.
The Argentina international is on the verge of quitting United at the end of the season after becoming disillusioned with Sir Alex Ferguson's apparent reluctance to turn his two-year lease stay into a more permanent 22million pounds-rated deal.
Tevez, whose economic rights are owned by a group of companies headed by Kia Joorabchian, told an Argentine radio station this week that: "in my situation, an exit from United will be the best solution."
He went on to claim that several leading clubs - including Real Madrid and Inter Milan - were interested in securing his services.
Despite Tevez's latest revelations, United's stars are keen for the 25-year-old to remain a Red Devil.
"We want him to stay, Carlos is a top player," midfielder Michael Carrick told The Sun newspaper.
"He has scored some very important goals for us over the last few years.
"We've got a world-class squad, we've got world- class players and Carlos is one of them.
"We want to keep moving forward as a team and as a squad so we'd like to keep our best players here.
"But it's down to the manager. I'm sure he knows the best way to make sure we do keep progressing."
