Amelia Wishes For Bayern Munich Move
Relegated Livorno goalkeeper, Marco Amelia, insists that he willjump at the chance to join Italy team mate Luca Toni at Bayern Munich.
The Amaranto were relegated from Serie A and Amelia, who is one of Italy's best shot stopper's, is looking for a move elsewhere. The Azzurri number two reveals that he wouldn't mind a new challengeaway from Serie A and he has hinted that his next destination maybe inthe Bundesliga.
"There is a very good chance that I will leave Livorno this summer," said Amelia.
"I don't think the club will be relying on me in Serie B but for now all I am thinking about is the national team.
"Me and Toni at Bayern Munich? I wish, if they call me I will run there."
Amelia is likely to be called up to Italy's national squad whichwill take part in the Euros next month. The 'Keeper was third choicebehind Gianluigi Buffon at the 2006 World Cup and he will be hoping hegets the nod from Roberto Donadoni once again despite being relegatedwith Livorno.
Oliver Kahn retired from the game after Bayern's 4-1 win over Herthaon Saturday, following a distinguished career in between the posts, andBayern will need a replacement for the 38-year-old.

Ballack joins German national team
Michael Ballack joined the German national team on Monday. The Captain arrived at the Homburger Waldstadion five days after he and the FC Chelsea lost the Champions League final against Manchester United in Moscow (5-6 after penalties). In Homburg Ballack met the national team, which came from the pre-tournament training camp on the island Mallorca. The 31-year-old midfielder flew in directly from London.
"I am delighted to be back among the squad, I am really impatient for the tournament to begin", said Ballack, who was welcomed by several hundred fans in front of the stadium. Asked for his feelings after the lost final he said: "I had a few days to rest, now I have to look forward." |
