Changes afoot at Merc GP
Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg will both work with new race engineers next year, according to a report.
Eurosport's French portal reports that seven-time World Champion Schumacher, who is working alongside Andy Shovlin this year, will team up with Mark Slade in the 2011 season. Former McLaren engineer Slade is currently working with Vitaly Petrov at Renault.
Rosberg, meanwhile, will be reunited with Tony Ross. The duo worked together at Williams.
Other reshuffles at the Brackley-based outfit next year could see Shovlin taking up another engineering role while team principal Ross Brawn and Mercedes motorsport boss will reportedly take a few steps back in the day-to-day running of the team.

Schumacher form one of many reasons for Mercedes 'optimism' for 2011
Ross Brawn and Norbert Haug have both confessed that the vastly-improved form evinced by multiple F1 World Champion Michael Schumacher in recent races is just one of ‘lots of reasons to be optimistic’ at Mercedes Grand Prix looking to 2011.
If Singapore represented the unquestionable nadir of Schumacher’s largely underwhelming return to top flight competition to-date – with the German legend taking the chequered flag a lowly 13th following an abject showing under the spotlights of the Far-Eastern city-state, prompting many pundits to muse that the end was nigh and that he would walk away from his three-year contract come season’s end – then since then, the 91-time grand prix-winner has produced three of his most convincing performances of the campaign back-to-back.
Sixth in Japan, fourth in Korea and seventh in Brazil last time out, the 41-year-old has tallied more than a third of his points total of 72 in the last three outings alone – and in terms of race pace, he has been right up with young team-mate and compatriot Nico Rosberg, a man who for much of the year has left him embarrassingly trailing. It is a turnaround, contends team principal Brawn, that proves that the most successful driver in the sport’s long history is increasingly rediscovering his old brio and spark.
“We’ve seen little windows of performance with Michael, and those windows are becoming more frequent now,” the Englishman – who has long enjoyed a close working relationship with Schumacher – is quoted as having said by ITV-F1. “I think in the last few races he’s had particularly good races.
“We see these windows of performance, and they’re coming together more frequently and in a more complete way. We can’t pretend we’re completely happy with this year overall, but there are lots of reasons to be optimistic for next season.”
Mercedes-Benz Motorsport Vice-President Haug, similarly, is convinced that the ‘Schumi’ of old is on the verge of a comeback in 2011, pointing to the Kerpen native’s superb turn-of-speed during qualifying at Interlagos last weekend – at one stage of which, he was right in the mix for pole position, and well ahead of Rosberg – and insisting that with a better car underneath him than the disappointing model the Stuttgart manufacturer gave him this year, he can once again shine.
“If you look into the detail you can see quite a few highlights,” the German underlined. “I saw Michael posting almost the fastest time [in qualifying in Brazil] – he was second-fastest, very close to Lewis Hamilton, and everyone was on intermediates.
“It’s definitely going in the right direction, and I think if we build a better car then we will look better. If you’re missing one per cent to the best, you are making up the numbers and are probably eighth or tenth. We just need to make a good step-up, and I’m absolutely convinced it’s going to go in the right direction.”
As to the F1 2010 season finale in Abu Dhabi this weekend, meanwhile, both men are hoping for one final flourish at the end of a generally frustrating campaign by way of a seventh straight points-scoring finish to lift the team’s spirits in preparation for 2011.
“The final race of 2010 takes us to the home grand prix for our Abu Dhabi-based shareholders and partner Aabar,” revealed Brawn. “We were extremely impressed with the Yas Marina Circuit on our first visit, and look forward to an exciting weekend which will see the battle for the drivers’ championship concluded. For Mercedes, off the back of our double-points finish in Brazil, we would like to finish this challenging season on an equally strong note before turning our attentions fully to next year.”
“We are all looking forward to a thrilling final race of a great season which still sees four drivers with a chance of competing for the championship,” concurred Haug. “Our team will not be taking anything for granted, and our target is to achieve the best possible result with our current technical package.
“As in recent races, we want to be right there if a driver in one of the currently faster cars should have a problem. It would be a nice reward for the team to conclude this very long and tough season, which saw everyone give their all, with a reasonable result.”

Schumacher congratulates Vettel on title
Michael Schumacher congratulated close friend Sebastian Vettel on winning his first drivers' title after an Abu Dhabi Grand Prix that saw him walk away from a frightening collision with Tonio Liuzzi that could have ended in disaster.
"First of all, big congratulations to Sebastian for his great victory and taking the title today," said Schumacher. "That was extremely well done after his season was so mixed but he was able to come back strongly in the last few races."
In an attempt to defend position from team-mate Nico Rosberg on the first lap, Schumacher spun his Mercedes and was facing the way of oncoming traffic. Unable to put the brakes on in time, Tonio Liuzzi ploughed into Schumacher's car, his front wing and nosecone just missing the seven-time world champion's head.
"I am totally fine and was not hit by anything in the incident. I had to go to the medical centre just for a precautionary check. I went off the line, spun and because of the dirt there, the back of the car just came around.
"It's a shame obviously as I would have liked to finish the season with a more positive ending but I am already looking forward to fighting again next year. I would like to say thank you to everybody in our team for all of their hard work.

actually byk part baru diaorng test utk race tahun ni..dah nampak skrg ada perbezaan masa memula season dgn last race kat abudhabi ada peningkatan..rosberg pun dapat tempat ke4.
