CL Reaction: We Could Have Won By More - Spalletti
AS Roma coach Luciano Spalletti insisted that his side could and should have won by more ahead of the Ole Trafford leg.
"With more luck we could have won by more," Spalletti said after the 2-1 win.
"When they were unable to score, we had our hands on the scruff of the neck of the match, and I though we would make it 2-0."
Veteran Christian Panucci, meanwhile, praised Cristano Ronaldo for his contribution. The winger put in some good work and also set up the move which saw Rooney score after controlling a Solskjaer cross.
"If he takes off with the ball you will never catch him," conceded Panucci, speaking from the evening's experience.
"You could compare him to motorcycling world champion Valentino Rossi.
"If I was given the same engine as him then perhaps I could catch him."
Roma can progress with a draw at Old Trafford, but a 1-0 win will see Manchester United go through. |
