KUALA LUMPUR: MeleTop co-host and entrepreneur Noor Neelofa Mohd Noor is occasionally moved to tears when she plays her part helping the needy. This happened recently, and the 29-year-old uploaded a brief Instagram video which sees her trying to hold back of tears after visiting a teenager and his impoverished family. Neelofa, who was on a corporate social responsibility mission, had asked the youth what he ate at school, with RM2 as daily pocket money, and he replied: “Kadang-kadang minum air.” (Sometimes I drink water.) This brief, but eye-opening response made the Pilot Cafe star stunned. In the caption to the video which she uploaded today, Neelofa said: “Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is one of the ways that I try to contribute back to society. It is an eye-opening experience, having done this a few times. “It is important to always be grateful, humble and selfless. I’ve learnt that the value of money is not only how you spend it, but also who you spend it for. “Hearing their stories really breaks my heart, when we feel like we have nothing, remember that some survive on even less. “Always be humble and learn to pay more attention to your surroundings.” Neelofa’s fans and followers lauded her for her compassion towards those in need, and definitely an artiste worthy of emulation. “You have a beautiful heart Neelofa. You are a beauty inside and outside,” said Zukri. “Keep up the good work Neelofa. Reach out to families who need help and may your good deeds be blessed," said Fakhrul.
