Owen Hargreaves must be on the way to Old Trafford as the same security guard that escorted Michael Carrick to Manchester United last month is pictured in the Sun doing the same with the Bayern Munich midfielder. |

Hargreaves set for talks
Owen Hargreaves is set to hold talks with Bayern Munich this week regarding his future with the German giants.
The Canadian-born midfielder has become the subject of a proposed move to Manchester United after the 25-year-old confirmed The Red Devils had made an offer for him.
Bayern insist the England international is not for sale, with Hargreaves under contract to the Bavarians until 2010.
Despite Bayern's stance, Hargreaves's agent Roman Grill believes the club must consider his client's wishes for his career.
"It is not a question of whether the club want to discuss a transfer, it is obvious that they need players like Owen and they don't want him to leave, but on the other hand, the player wants to talk," said Grill.
"Owen wants to tell the club how he sees his future.
"Owen has never had any problems with Bayern and has been here for nine years now without any complaints.
"The time has now come to evaluate where he is in his career.
"Maybe later (Thursday), he will talk with the coach Felix Magath and see how he views things.
"As he has already said, Owen sees this (United offer) as an excellent opportunity.
"Owen rates Manchester United on the same level as Bayern Munich with the advantage that, being an England player, it would be better to play at Manchester United.
"There, he could replace (former United player) Roy Keane and play in his favourite position in front of the defence, where he can show off his full abilities.
"He will continue to push for a move there (to Manchester United), there is no need to discuss any other offers.
"(Yesterday) he was the best player for England, was voted man-of-the-match and he really enjoyed being there.
"It is only normal for Bayern Munich to say they don't want to sell a player they have brought up through the youth team, even though they can earn ?25 million (?17 million) for him."
Hargreaves provided another solid performance for England at Old Trafford in Wednesday's 4-0 friendly thrashing of Greece. |

United given Senna deadline
Marcos Senna's agent has given Manchester United a deadline of Friday to conclude one of the summer's longest running transfer sagas.
The Villarreal midfield man has been a long-term target of United, but protracted negotiations have failed to broker a deal.
The player's agent, Elis Coimbra, admits his client is losing his patience, with the deal now appearing to hinge on United's paymasters pushing through a deal with the Liga club.
Coimbra claims Sir Alex Ferguson is confident of clinching Senna's signature, but the Spain international is now looking for an official confirmation.
"If we have not received confirmation from United by Friday then the deal is off and the player will remain in Villarreal," said Coimbra.
"We have been in contact for a number of weeks but we have not been able to come to an agreement.
"I have spoken much with Ferguson and [Carlos] Queiroz and they are confident, but the problems are in getting the okay from the owners."
Senna is contracted to The Yellow Submarines until 2007, and Coimbra refused to rule out the possibility of the player seeing out the final 12 months of his contract at El Madrigal if a move to United fails to materialise.
"If the move does not happen then he will remain with Villarreal and we'll discuss his future at the end of the season." |

Neville: We all stand together
Gary Neville has defended Cristiano Ronaldo's World Cup exploits and insists Manchester United will protect him.
United's straight-talking club captain played in the England-Portugal game which caused such a media frenzy at this summer's tournament.
Striker Wayne Rooney was sent off for The Three Lions for stamping on defender Ricardo Carvalho when tackled from behind.
Ronaldo seemed to implore the referee to act straight after the incident and was later caught on camera winking to the bench, but Neville says he understands the pressures that go with international football and bears no grudge against his club colleague.
"You know, I saw the incident after the game with Portugal and I saw exactly what happened with what Wayne did and I saw exactly what Cristiano's reaction was," Neville exclusively told Sky Sports News.
"I don't have a problem with Cristiano for that, I went and swapped shirts with him after that. :ting:
"The English will always come up with excuses and scapegoats for why they haven't won and this time it was Cristiano.
"The reason we lost the game was because Wayne got sent off, which he knows about, we didn't score the penalties and we didn't get the goal.
"It was nothing to do with Cristiano why we didn't win that tournament." :pmuka:
The experienced full back believes Ronaldo is just the latest in a line of Old Trafford players to be scapegoated by the media after international tournaments.
A young David Beckham was the victim after the 1998 World Cup exit to Argentina, while Phil Neville was singled out for giving a penalty away in the Euro 2000 exit to Romania and the older Neville is proud that United stick by their under-fire stars.
"We always protect our own, right the way back to David Beckham coming back from a tournament, my brother in 2000, it has always been the case where United will protect its own players," Neville continued.
"It happened again this summer with Cristiano and Wayne, but he is at the right place and he'll be protected by the manager, who is brilliant at doing that.
"The players will never have any problem.
"What happens in an international game has got nothing to do with what happens at Manchester United." |
