From what i hear and know ramai ikan dari Malaysia dijual di Singapore..ramai nelayan yang offload their catch at Senoko and Jurong Fishery Port...gue pernah pergi ke Pasar Pandan yang sebelum Pasar Smart. Dah lah ikan nye mahal, lepastu tak ramai variety and not that fresh. Yang murah is daging and ayam, tapi nak masuk Singapore susah sikit pasal nak kena smuggle hehehe |

Comparing to Singapore after conversion that is..nak compare whether its worth it for Singaporeans to purchase there and bring back. Tapi kalau bab furniture dari kedai kedai di jb rega memang murah. SGD $10000 leh complete satu rumah termasuk levy and delivery charges. |

Sedikit pembetulan abt cars here...every month the agency in charge of vehicles, LTA issues out a certain number of 10 year vehicle permits which are termed COE's so those who want to purchase a car must BID for that limited number...thats why the COE prices for the different classes of vehicles from motorcycles to lorries vary monthly. The number of permits issued is dependent on the number of vehicles being scrapped or taken off the roads that month. For example last month or the month before COE prices were as low as SGD$2. Why u may ask? Its because in light of the current financial crisis and recession, demand for new vehicles is lesser than the amount of COE being issued out by LTA.
Another thing, every few years vehicles have to go for a mandatory car inspection/assessment. Its to check whether owners are keeping in line with car safety regulations, pollution control measures, illegal modification of cars etc. So most of the vehicle owners which had illegal modification done will take out or revert back to stock vehicle parts before the inspection date lol.
Mature estates have lifts which do not stop at every floor but its being upgraded under an island wide programme after the last elections which will result in lifts servicing every floor. Those who are familliar with Tampines estate should have seen completed lift upgrading works.
Regarding foodcourts, its a simple matter of supply/demand and demographics. Singapore's population is 70 plus percent Chinese, with Malays and Indians taking up the rest so, it is not feasible in the business sense. Those traditional Malay or Indian areas like Geylang Serai and Serangoon has predominantly Malay and and indian food stalls/coffeeshops. There are also halal-certified food courts spread over the island which sells a variety of chinese, indian, malay, western dishes etc. Obviously not all food courts can be halal as the Chinese still prefer eating pork. |
