just after the grading
ramlan snsei gave comments about my techniques
- lifting up shoulders for 'nikkajo 2'
- kiai still sounds 'haip' (sometimes...)
- not turning enough the knee for 'taino henko 2'
- clashing with uke for 'koutehgashe' in go waza
how ever... my marks is 80%!!!
i'm very happy for that
at 1st, i thought only around 70+
even less than 75%
bof... sensei said, i deserved it

Hey Ben!
I said already there's no "Osu" in my way, you see what did nippon aiki say about. You ignore my advise then.................

Ending = domo arigato gozaimasu/domo arigato gozaimashita

OIC, which 2 dojos of Kuching? Affiliated to Aikikai Malaysia right? I like to inform you one thing, Kuching also has an Iwama style dojo and there's taught by Sullivan Cottier.
Have a nice day! |

Konnichiwa everybody,
benz_my... Thank you. I am relieved to be back in Malaysia but I'm starting to miss the keiko & dojo in Japan. BTW, I didn't watch the movie AIKI, just watched the link provided in this forum. The actor in AIKI is not handicapped actually, he's a normal person with karate background.
Mr Wong...the dojos (Hikmah & Koubukan) are affliated to Aikikai Malaysia. I already registered myself last week. Manage to do keiko 4 times per week but it's so hot. I think, I need to buy a new dogi (thinner material)...
Bubbye........ |

Hikmah Dojo is taught by Sula Sensei while Kobukan Dojo is taught by Haneef Sensei, in Kuching has 4 Aikikai dojo and 1 Iwama style dojo.
Although Kuching Aiki Shuren Dojo teaches Iwama style but there still has no break away from Zaidan Hojin Aikikai, i mean Ulf Evenas Sensei still stays around Zaidan Hojin Aikikai but not change his own direction to Iwama Shinshin Aiki Shurenkai.
You rather wear Judo gi, Karate gi is easier to damaged during practice. I don't know how to explain to you, but i wish you understand it. A set of Bokaido is RM200s while Adidas brand is RM300s, you better consider about it but something is unvalueable to save. I like to spend much money to buy a set of Bokaido brand Judo Gi, but i'll wait until i make a decision to resume my keiko after my own problem has solved.
Shobukan Bangsar Dojo has break away from Aikikai Malaysia, Marcus Chan Sensei pays attention to Harry Ng Shihan now. I've no time for Bangsar because there's too late of ending practice, i'm always back home at very late midnight if i still around there.
Sayonara! |

Hi Mr Wong,
Please dont take me wrong that I ignore your advise. I have been taugh for many years that everytime we acknowledge anything and we will say OSU,
eventhough in USA. (I mean Yoshinkan school in general)
It is depend on the instructors on each school...the school that I am praticing now in Sacramento, California....after the end of the class the will greet "domo arigato ...
Some older generation sempais, they will start the class by calling onegaishimasu...
um.........anyway....how's life in Msia? This summer I suppose to come back, but my instructor wants me to work with him for this summer project which
I think is good for my learning esperience so I decided to stay.

Konnichiwa everybody,
Omedetou (Congratulation) to Hang Jebat for his promotion to yon kyu (4th kyu).
Mr. Wong... For ur info, I'm using judo gi for the time being and sweating like a horse for 1 hr keiko. Feiyuuu... 500ml of water is not enough. You also seem to have good knowledge on other streams of aikido. I just follow what aikikai taught and make some addition to the basic waza which is quite long compared to application waza which seems like a shortcut and faster. So I try to get a new finding from keiko and different opponents.
p/s: according to Japanese language, OS is a slang use between male frenz to acknowledge each other..like saying..hi! |
