Di Pekan, banjir kali ini (kalau takde gelombang ke2 ke3) tak seteruk 2007.
mak aku tak cite apa-apa sangat pun pasal pekan..
dia cite rumah tok aku je banjir.. tapi tu biasa la
dulu-dulu rumah mak aku kalau banjir, banjir air longkang je.. tapi nasib baik rumah dulu-dulu tinggi
tapi banjir dulu-dulu seronok, air bersih je.. lepas tu keluar dengan geng bawa tangguk cari ikan hahahaha..
bando pekan apa cite? air lepas tebing tak?

tingginya paras air naik... tgk kesan lumpur kat daun2 tu..
mmg tinggi Mulan..
acik n mak risauuu sgt2222..sejak mula banjir cuba call kakak n abg ipar
baru ari ni dpt bercakap dgn dia..line celcom terputus baru ari ni ada balik..

Br sampai KL dari Ganu. Lalu jabor,jalan mmg agak hardcore dgn lubang sana sini. Takde nampak sebarang air banjir atas jalan. ALHAMDULILLAH.... |

Di bandar ada juga tempat kena meranduk air.. dekat Maybank & sekitarnya...tapi tak jejas operasi sgtlah.. bangunan lebih tinggi dari paras air..
Jalan2 utama keluar dari Pekan cuma putus sehari-dua saja (tidak semua)... tidak mcm banjir besar 2007, semua jln utama terputus.. jambatan2 kecil runtuh ... barang2 keperluan terputus bekalan... jadi pulau pendek kata..
Di kampung2 yg di tepi Sg Pahang mmg banjir.. tapi banjir yg kebiasaanlah... kenderaan kena park di tepi jln raya.. lembu, kambing, pasu bunga berderet di tepi jalan.. ini sgt2 biasalah.. kenderaan berat masih boleh lalu..
Rumah2 bertiang... paras air banjir di halaman biasanya di pinggang...
Yg di Kuantan kali ni mmg teruk betul... rumah & kereta habis tenggelam.

Bila musim hujan/banjir, jalan2 mmg berlubang.. berkawah2...even sepanjang LPT byk lubang terutama lane kiri .. kualiti tar kureng agaknya.

Banyak jua jalan yang saya tengok tadi semacam terkopak dari landasan...terkopak sekeping2....sehingga tinggal jalan tanah merah pun ada....mungkin lama sgt berada dlm air banjir kot...habis tercabut tar

I've never been one for long posts. Heck I'm not even a FB person. But a recent event uplifted my soul and at the same time, broke my heart. I'd like to share the tale.
My wife's family is in Kuantan and are victims of the current floods. We planned to go help clean up the house after the flood subsided. A lot of things were damaged, but that is a separate story.
The story I want to share is of my sister in-law's charitable initiative. After seeing photos of mothers and children suffering during the flood, she being a mother herself, was prompted to organize a donation drive.
Being the founder of fashion boutique, House of Allure, she tapped into her social media network and made a call for contribution of diapers, baby formula, blankets, food, water, etc. She only expected a few to respond and perhaps bring back those items in her MPV back to Kuantan.
With help of friends spreading the word via social media, a collection centre was set up at Kayu in Ampang apart from the two at her own boutiques in Puchong and Shah Alam. The response was off the charts. We ended up with donated items barely fitting a 5-ton truck!
On Friday night a small group of people from the Ampang community lent their hands delivering donated goods to the lorry rendezvous point. The following day, me and wife made our way up to sort things at her Kuantan home.
My sister in-law arrived at night with the lorry and some sad news. She got delayed because the lorry was stopped by transport authorities on the grounds of overloading. They were fined for a 260kg overload in a 5-ton truck. I understand that they were just doing their jobs, but considering the circumstances, I really wished they were let go with a warning.
We shrugged it aside and were in positive spirits to complete the mission. Sekolah Sg Isap Murni was our drop off point. Sister in-law picked that relief centre since it's near our neighborhood. When we reached there, our hearts stomped to the ground.
The school served as a relief centre, overpopulated with 4,735 people. As we were driving in towards the base, some people were flagging us down, begging for us to leave some items before it reached the distribution centre.
We kept our faith in the organizing committee of this particular relief centre and drove on. We heard stories of irresponsible people from outside the relief centre claiming to be victims just to grab items.
After unloading the lorry with the help of volunteers and the army watching over, we decided to do a little walkabout to distribute loose items we had in the car.
My sister in-law's personal objective was to aid mothers and children. We walked and hand-picked some victims to contribute milk and cash.
This was quite a blow to me. In that instance I was lucky (or unlucky, however you look at it) to have dry eye syndrome. I was actually crying but it didn't show. I see babies as young as 3-months old sleeping on corridors. Elderly people covered with multiple thin clothing as blankets. Some claimed their blankets were stolen. Some children sleeping and shivering while hugging their parents arms to keep warm.
The nights in Kuantan now are cold. Really, really cold.
I regretfully admit that before I went up to Kuantan, it didn't really hit me. Seeing footage on the media, it seemed like it was well-managed and organized. Those were sugar laced. The situation is worse than I imagined.
What we thought was a large contribution turned out to be a pinch. But we were glad to help even in the smallest possible way.
I hope people who read this, would be as motivated as we were to lend a helping hand. Keep on contributing to whichever channel that is supplying stuff to Kuantan (and other affected states). Feed your souls and mend some broken hearts.
