you're right DanaScully... Just Friends by Robyn Sisman
is so good, i've waited for more than a year to buy the paperback version.
imagine I, going to Kino KLCC everyday to read the book (they had the hardcover version back then)..and I would laugh out loud (sambil
tepuk tepuk lantai kat situ) and the passer-by would frowned and looked
at me ..-"what's wrong with this girl actually?" i love that book!!!

encik limau nipis, i'll try my best eh. dah lama beli buku tu and a friend of mine sampai sekarang, masih tak pulangkan buku tersebut.

if i'm not mistaken, the story is about a woman name Freya and a guy name Jack. both were thirtysomethings and they've been friends for quite a long time. when Freya dumped her BF (with smashing tactics by the way), she had to live with Jack temporarily until she finds new accomodation. plan bagai nak rak time nak dump BF dia, tapi backup plan like "what's next" pun dia tak terpikir. and since they live under the same roof, they've been fighting like cats and dogs...hilarious scene time nih. things getting worse when Freya's sis is getting married and she had to bring someone to make sure her families (the nosy ones of course) tak worry pasal dia yg still tak kahwin kahwin lagi walau dah jadi bujang terlajak.

it reminds me of this one movie. tapi tak ingat lah pulak. but hey, books and movies are two different genre. depends on us on how to perceive things that we read compared to movies...lihat dan dengar aje la apa yg tersedia.
i hope my explanation went well.

1. jemima j. cheta pasal a verrrry2 fat lady wit low self esteem. pastu dia engaged into the net  ...

others by jane green:

straight talking: if not mistaken pasal friendship masa kat uni, boys n' girls, continue till adulthood, except sorang yang tak keep intouch coz dia ni rampas boyfren kawan, last2 sume jumpa balik n' the girl yang dia org ignore ni rupa2nya lesbian, penat je berprasangka dgn dia...

bookends: pun pasal friendship gak, sorang kena AIDS, how they dealt with it, fullfill their dream, bukak kedai buku, yang pandai masak buat cakes n' cookies

spellbounds: marriage yang tak setaraf, a sophisticated guy married a simple girl, tried to change her to a tee, unhappy, divorced n' led their lives happily with partners of their choice

the other woman: abt mother in law, participate actively in her son's marriage, very much to the wife's disgrace

dah banyak baca jane green, kalau tersalah cite harap maaf, kdg2 confius wich is wich...

chick lit... suka gak baca genre nih... start with chick lit ni rasanya the bridget jones diary 1 and 2 by helen fielding... love the first book... second part so and so laa...

then other chick lit that i like is jennifer crusie (dh baca almost all of her books, although her earlier books more to romance)..  then jennifer weiner, lauren weisberger, a few of jane green's, sophie kinsella of course...

most of the people like the shopaholic series... which i also like... it makes me laugh... but my fav of her books (under sophie kinsella name), i would have to say undomestic goddess... sbb rasa mcm ada connection with the main character, samantha... it feels very real... the burden, the stress, the conflict... it's a mixture of fairy tales and real world...

next... ada sesapa baca melissa nathan? she has written 6 books before she died because of cancer last year, i think she was not even 40... okay... back to her books... i've only read 2 of her books so far... and looking forward to read the other books as well in the future... nih ikut turutan yg i baca...

first book by melissan nathan: pride, prejudice and jasmin fields - honestly i start to read this book because the title has pride and prejudice (and i am crazy about jane austen's pride & prejudice)... but then i found out i like the book... it's about jasmin fields who works as a columnist at a not so famous magazines... the story circles around her job, her family, her friends, and her involvement in a stage production titled, as u can guess, pride and prejudice... it is for charity purposes, involving other columnist, and also celebrities... but somehow... she was picked to be the main star in the show, Elizabeth Bennett... and her life seems to mirror her character in the show...

2nd book by melissa nathan: the story is about a main character (which of course a woman), who can't make up her mind to pick her career... she seems to stuck working as a waitress at some cafe, even though she has a degree... until the cafe where she works is bought by 2 guys... she was then promoted to a manager, and she find out that she actually love handling a cafe/restaurant/bar... the storyline is quite okay.. but i hate the guy that whom she is romantically involves with... mula2 cam macho... then rasa macam nk sepak2 je... takde pendirian langsung...

hmm... sekarang nih baru nk start baca meg cabot books pulak... tp ada a lot of other books to read from other genre as well... kene queue la nih.... i will also try the books recommended here... mcm menarik jugak...

by the way... i think jane austen's books seems to be some kind of chic lit as well... utk zaman tu lah...

last night i read meg cabot book titled 'boy next door'...

i consider it as light reading at the time i read the book, but probably because i start the book after i finished the innocent man by john grisham... but, even though it's a simple story, it makes me smile and feel lighthearted, and afterward i went to bed with a smile on my face, instead of feeling very angry and unsettled if i went to bed with grisham book is the last book i read...

the way this book is written is very different than other contempary romance fiction or chick lit, there is no normal chapter by chapter story... there's nothing special or outstanding with the storyline, imho, what makes it different is the author's approach to represent the story...the whole story contains of email corresponds by the characters in the story... sometimes it can be a little bit confusing, you have to read from whom and to whom the email is for... i'm not sure how many emails are there in the story, probably thousands... it feels like you are snooping into other people emails.. overall it is a nice book, but i don't think i will read it again, because i don't really like to read all those emails again to get the story..

ade sesape suke sweet valley series zaman kanak-kanak dulu? mase franchise SVH senior year, siri ni ditulis oleh creatornya sendiri, Francine Pascal.. aku beli kesemua 48 buku ni..
Pastu i got hooked on Gossip Girl by Cecily von Ziegesar when i was 18...
tapi paling klasik memang Mills & Boon series that i've been reading since i was 16 M&B bukan typical chick lit cam shopaholic series, tapi aku tau most of the chicks out there mesti suke punye M&B.. malu nak ngaku je
