Korang pernah pegi IGOR??

kenapa dahsyat betul tempat dia? aku ingat konsep horror je tapi ada sampai suruh customers cium2, bukak2 baju ni buang tebiat ke?

:sad::sad::sad:

Horror host regrets show's horrid turn

Made strangers kiss on mouth
Got male diner to do 'full monty'
Exposes diner's butt then insult him
By Teh Jen Lee

MAKING six strangers kiss each other on stage. Daring one of them to strip to his underwear then pulling it down to expose his buttocks.

And finally, calling him foolish for following instructions.

It would be difficult to do the above and get away with it - even if you are the master of ceremonies at a horror-themed theatre restaurant like Igor's The Main Event.

That's probably why Mr Calvin Tan, 43, didn't try to evade the issue when The New Paper on Sunday contacted him.

STRAIGHT ANSWERS

He admitted that he was the emcee in question. He started to say that he couldn't comment because the restaurant was in the midst of a 'formal inquiry'.

But when asked why he humiliated his patrons on Mar 27, he couldn't help but respond.

'It was done in the name of fun and camaraderie,' said Mr Tan.

'We were teasing and joking. I thought everyone was in the mood that night. I guess I dropped my guard - me personally, not the management of Igor's.

'I didn't realise I offended anyone. If I did, I would have stopped. But everyone was fine, they were laughing. We went home afterwards. It was like a regular work day.'

Except that a couple had walked out in disgust. And another regular felt he had gone too far.

Mr Tan said one of his crew told him about the couple's reaction after the show but, by then, it was too late. There was nothing he could do.

'The gentleman remarked that he was upset as he was leaving. It's not that we don't take our customers seriously, but in the course of the night's operations, it seemed normal. He didn't make a big scene, or demand to see the manager.

'I didn't know how to contact him. I did think that we might get a complaint letter,' said Mr Tan.

What he didn't expect was to see the letter in The Straits Times on Friday. He said the letter didn't explain the context of what happened.

'It was all done in a gesture of warmth,' said Mr Tan.

But Mr Tan got a little defensive when asked how a full monty qualified as a gesture of warmth.

'We don't get anyone to do the full monty, we sort of dare them. It wasn't a command to strip, we're not vulgar or tacky in that respect,' said Mr Tan.

He is a full-time employee at Igor's and has been emceeing for the past two years.

The restaurant, located at Stadium Boulevard in The Oasis building, opened in October 2001.

Its website refers to customers as 'victims', and each has to pay $60 or $75 to get in.

A police spokesman said they are looking into the matter.

Mr Tan said he was not aware of any other complaints - not even from the guy who stripped.

'This was an isolated event. What we thought was fun was not appreciated. I can understand that. I am very sorry, I do regret my actions.'

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

'Maybe this time he went too far'

By Edwin Yeo

YIKES. That's the reaction of a regular at Igor's The Main Event.

He was there on Mar 27, when master of ceremonies Calvin Tan made someone in the audience do a full monty.

'I was quite shocked when he did that. I thought that they might get into trouble for this,' said the diner, who wanted to be known only as Leonard.

And Leonard's no prude.

He frequents the dinner-theatre restaurant because he enjoys the atmosphere, which he admitted is a bit wild and crazy at times.

Having been in the entertainment industry for many years, he is no stranger to the stunts that entertainers pull.

Still, he was surprised at what Mr Tan did that night.

'I've seen the show many times before. This is the first time that I've seen him pull down someone's underwear,' said Leonard, who is in his 20s .

He wasn't the only one who was shocked.

Another diner wrote to The Straits Times Forum saying he and his wife were offended by the stunts .

NO COMPLAINTS

Leonard said that, in the past, Mr Tan had asked men and women diners who were celebrating their birthdays to go onstage to kiss, but no-one really complained.

Of his more than 20 visits to Igor's, only once did he see someone complain - a woman who asked for the show to be stopped because she found it offensive.

And they did indeed stop the show.

The horror-comedy theme restaurant usually has a few acts in which performers put on a skit with outrageous costumes and music - a la The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

The restaurant is designed to look like you're eating in a medieval castle and the waiting staff are dressed as ghastly creatures.

They are often intentionally rude - all in the name of a fun dining experience.

In between the acts, Mr Tan gets the audience to participate in the show.

That night, Leonard said, while he was surprised, he didn't notice anybody looking shocked or offended by Mr Tan's act.

Leonard added: 'He (Mr Tan) can be quite wild sometimes and, usually, it is all right, but maybe this time he went a bit too far.'
