I only know some words so I listened carefully and tried my best to piece together his story. He showed me a photo of his daughter and granddaughter. For some reason when he spoke about them his demeanour change. I don't think he gets to see them much. He used to be a police officer. He showed me his badge. Stories of fights and adventures. It's amazing how much you can understand when the storyteller really bersungguh. My longest conversation in Spanish. I didn't speak much. I think he knew I couldn't understand. Didn't matter much to us. He wanted to tell his story and I wanted to listen. Mucho gusto Pak Cik. Thank you for sharing your stories with me. Your family has no idea what they're missing.
