Beckham Allowed To Train With Arsenal Or Tottenham
A report in The Sun claims that David Beckham has been allowed to train in England - if England qualify for Euro 2008.
LA Galaxy have already poured cold water on reports that David Beckham could play for an English club during the MLS off season.
However, The Sun claim that they have given the nod to the player training in England during the winter to remain match fit for international duty.
The former England skipper has 97 caps at the moment, and is looking to get to 100, something which can only happen next year.
That - and indeed his participation in next summer's European Championships if England qualify - would be in jeopardy if he does not train keep himself match fit during the next four and a half months.
With that in mind, the MLS side have agreed to the player training with an English club, provided Steve McClaren's boys qualify for next summer's competition, and that he remains available to play in Galaxy's exhibition games.
The clubs being mentioned are, at the moment, Arsenal, Tottenham and Watford.
Arsene Wenger has always been an admirer of the midfielder, and would supposedly relish the chance to have his experience at his disposal on the training pitch. |

Diaby: I Won't Leave In January, But...
Abou Diaby has told the media that he's content to fight for his place at the Emirates - for now. Come next summer, things may be different...
Abou Diaby is uspet at being left out of Raymond Domenech's latest French squad, and feels that a lack of first team action at the Emirates is partly to blame.
The 21 year old, formerly of Auxerre, has nonetheless vowed to stay and fight for his place in the Gunners line-up, for the time being, at least.
He remarked, "This time I have not been called up by France and I do not play that much for Arsenal.
"The season is long so I do not plan a move yet. Maybe later if it continues, but not in January."
Having started just seven games this season, and being firmly second choice to Tomas Rosicky in the midfield, a lack of consecutive starts seems to be a source of frustration for the 2006 signing.
"I need playing time," he sighed. "I thought that I would continue [to play] after I scored [against Derby] but it did not happen.
"I remain patient and do not give up because I know that my chance will come.
"Arsenal's team is doing well so I have to show patience and it will be unlocked then. I do not regret my choices. Those things happen.
"The situation is like this today but it can change tomorrow. The players that are on the pitch are not automatically better than those who are on the bench, but they do their job very well."
Diaby, a former Paris Saint-Germain youth, has two caps for Les Bleus. |

Reading striker Dave Kitson hails Arsenal as "the best team on the planet" after their 3-1 victory at the Madejski Stadium. (Daily Telegraph)
Kitson: Gunners Are 'Without Doubt' The Greatest
Arsenal strolled past Reading with a comprehensive 3-1 victory at the Madejski stadium on Monday. Speaking after the game, Royals striker Dave Kitson heralded the Gunners as the best team on the planet
Reading battled well against visiting Arsenal for 44 minutes in Monday night's Premier League encounter.
But then came the opening goal and the Royals were subjected to a lesson in showpiece football by Ars鑞e Wenger's outfit, who reclaimed top spot in the table.
Reading striker Dave Kitson, left alone upfront against the Gunners, ended up performing defensive duties for much of the night.
The ginger haired forward admitted the gulf in class between the sides was immense, and he had no problems in hailing the Gunners the greatest side in the world - even if he is a Tottenham fan.
"It is unbelievably difficult playing against them and, to be honest, there wasn't a lot we could have done," said Kitson, speaking to The Guardian after Monday's encounter.
"They are without doubt the best footballing team on the planet right now. It's absolutely phenomenal stuff.
"Trying to get near F醔regas, Hleb or Rosicky... it's a tough ask," continued the Royals frontman.
One Step Ahead
"The thing that amazes you most is they are not just passing to each other," furthered Kitson, who on the basis of this in-depth analysis is surely a TV pundit in-the-making.
"They are passing so that the next person can run on to the ball and, by then, his mind is already made up with what he is going to do next. It is unbelievable."
Not content with delivering such great praise, Kitson then waxed lyrical about the talents of Cesc Fabregas in particular. "[He] puts his foot on the ball, has a look, sees what he wants to do and then he plays it four yards in front of him to Hleb.
"He'll turn round, play it another four yards by which time Fabregas has already gone past, and so it goes on. Trying to get near to them and stop it... it is tough. They don't have off days very often."
Fabregas 'Frightening'
On the subject of Fabregas, Kitson admitted he couldn't help but feel envious of the Spaniard's talents.
"It is not even fair that a kid that young can have so much talent. He is world-class already: definitely among the top five players in the league, definitely one of the top players in the world. It's frightening.
Arsenal Are The Premiership's Best
"It's interesting to compare them with Manchester United or Chelsea," Kitson explained. "What I would say about Arsenal is they are not reliant on one, two, three or even four people. They all kind of chip in even though, against us, they didn't really use their full-backs, simply because they didn't need to. I thought they had another couple of gears to go."
It will be close at the end of the season between the three of them but even for a Tottenham fan like me - and to say this is blasphemy - you hope that a team who play as well as Arsenal win something. Their approach is just magic... Wenger must be licking his lips because there is just silverware here on in for Arsenal," Kitson added.
Togolese Talent
It hasn't escaped Kitson's notice that the Gunners are churning out such stylish performances without one of their top strikers and with the supposed heart of the side having left for Spain in the summer. "They have one major injury in Robin van Persie and they don't even look as if they are missing him.
"Emmanuel Adebayor plays up front on his own and he is almost like two strikers up there. When Barcelona came in for Henry, Wenger must have seen the fee, looked at Adebayor and thought it was Christmas. He had a player waiting there for his chance.
"Just looking at Adebayor as a technician and as a football player, that is what every striker should aspire to. He is very right footed but, when you are that good, you don't need your left foot. He is 6ft 5in and you look at him and think: 'How is he doing this?'"
Kitson could only marvel at the fashion in which the Togolese netted against the Royals. "For his goal, the ball came at him at 100mph and he just cushioned it into the far corner."

Arsenal laung amaran awal
- AFP
