Luis Suarez: The best striker in the Premier League and has, at times, single-handedly carried Liverpool through difficult spells. Also showing now that he can be a great goalscorer rather than a scorer of great goals; he is crucial to Liverpool’s ambitions.

Fabio Borini: Brought in from Roma at a cost of £10million, the Italian has looked ill-equipped to cope with the demands of English football. He hasn’t scored in the Premier League and has been out for three months with injury.
How’s the boss doing?
It has not been easy for Brendan Rodgers in the six months he has been at the helm. Though there have been some encouraging performances to go alongside qualification for the Europa League knockout phase, he has made some mistakes and there are still elements of Liverpool’s support who are reserving judgement on him. His enthusiasm, however, cannot be faulted.
Fans’ verdict
The imminent arrival of Daniel Sturridge worries me. On one hand, I'm not sure he is the player we need. But on the other I know how badly the club is run and wonder if this is just another output of poor ownership / leadership. Also the system we are playing doesn't get the best out of Stevie Gerrard. We don't have enough good players to not maximise his abilities.

Jack Butland all set for Premier League club?
More reports have emerged recently that suggest Jack Butland may be on the verge of a move to Liverpool. As speculation mounts over Pepe Reina's future at the club Brendan Rodgers has picked Jack Butland as a potential replacement.
It would certainly be a gamble, replacing experience with inexperience. |

Chelsea have never been a team to develop their kids that regularly and here at the Football Transfer Tavern news has reached our ears via Sky Sports that another youngster could be set to leave the club with Manchester City and Liverpool both interested.
Scottish Under-21 international Islam Feruz is being linked with a move away from the champions of Europe due to a lack of chances and growing doubts over the club allowing him to progress through the ranks. With this fate, other clubs are now sniffing around the Somali-born 17-year-old.
Feruz has impressed during his time with the club and performances for the reserve side have attracted glances from Manchester City, yet the player and his agent are confused over where his future lies.
The player who moved from Celtic to the Blues after rejecting a professional contract with the SPL side is highly regarded, with his agent Rui Alves claiming that: “I have made contact with various clubs who all want the player, but he is currently at Chelsea and he wants to make his name at the club.”
However as with a few Chelsea players this season, there is confusion over how the club feels and Alves disclosed that: “The problem we have is that we don’t quite know whether Chelsea feel the same.”

Menurut laporan di sepanyol dan turki , pemain buruan liverpool Arda Turan dikhabarkan telah bersetuju dengan terma dan syarat peribadi untuk menyertai arsenal pada hujung musim nanti
Namun begitu yuran perpindahan tidak didedahkan.

LONDON - Brendan Rodgers memberi amaran kepada pemain bertaraf bintang dalam pasukannya bahawa mereka bakal disingkir kecuali mereka konsisten dalam mencatatkan kemenangan.
Bos Liverpool itu sudah lama bersabar terhadap pemainnya walaupun memulakan karier pengurusan di Anfield dengan penuh kekecewaan.
Kini terdapat tanda-tanda bahawa dia sudah bersedia untuk menghadapi musim 2013 dengan menyingkirkan pemain yang terus tidak konsisten.
Ternyata kekalahan kepada Aston Villa dan Stoke baru-baru ini menguji kesabarannya.
Rodgers, di mana skuadnya kini menduduki pertengahan liga yang akan menentang QPR hari ini, memberi petunjuk bahawa dia akan menyingkirkan mana-mana pemain yang mengecewakan beliau.
Katanya: “Apabila anda beraksi di kelab seperti ini, sudah pasti ada beberapa syarat yang perlu anda perlu capai.
“Ia bukan sahaja tuntutan kepada teknikal dan taktikal sahaja. Anda tidak boleh beraksi baik hari ini dan beberapa hari kemudian permainan anda buruk.
“Ini adalah Liverpool. Di sini setiap perlawanan adalah hidup anda, sebab itu anda berada di kelab yang besar ini.
“Kami mahu terus bertambah maju tetapi agak malang kerana kami berada pada kedudukan sekarang, jadi perkembangan kami perlahan berbanding pasukan lain.
“Bola sepak bukan seperti sukan lain di mana anda cuma perlu katakan sesuatu kepada seseorang dan tunjukkan pintu keluar, maka dia akan pergi.
