Arsenal vs Liverpool Player Ratings
Colin Chong watched Arsenal crash 2-0 to Liverpool at the Emirates in Saturday's Barclays Premier League action.
Arsenal
Wojciech Szczesny - 7.5
Could it be true? Have the Gunners found a decent number 1 keeper? He pulled off a few fine saves and gave the Arsenal fans something to cheer about in these dark times.
Thomas Vermaelen - 9
Had to rally the troops after more injuries forced Wenger to field an even younger looking Arsenal side. Not many would've expected him to win the majority of headers against Carroll but he did. An imperial display from Vermaelen.
Laurent Koscielny (Off 15') - 6
Picked up a back injury after challenging Carroll for a header. Back spasms forced him out of the game.
Bacary Sagna - 7.5
A good display from Sagna despite being played out of position. As a make-shift left back, he remained assured and alert to stop the majority of Liverpool's counter attacking play down the flank.
Carl Jenkinson - 7
Filled in at right back and he should be proud of his debut. He kept the more experienced Downing in check and going forward his accuracy rate on crosses was better than what Walcott could muster.
Emmanuel Frimpong (Sent Off 70') - 7.5
Despite behaving like a schoolboy and collecting a yellow card10minutes after kick off for squaring up to a Liverpool player, Frimpong certainly has a bright future ahead of him. His technique was sound and he looks so comfortable on the ball. However, he is an unpolished diamond - he never should have got the first yellow card for squaring up to a Liverpool player and his late challenge on Lucas was rightly a second booking. A red card ruined an otherwise flawless display.
Aaron Ramsey - 6.5
Must learn to communicate more with his team mates if he aspires to be the midfield lynch pin for the Gunners.
Andrei Arshavin (Off 71') - 2
Disappointing. There's not much else to say about him.
Samir Nasri - 6
Although he didn't look as sharp as he was last season, he managed to get the crowd on their feet with a few mazy runs and shots from distance. The only question is will he still be a Gunner in their crunch match against Manchester United next week?
Theo Walcott (Off 80') - 5
The final ball is still a problem for him. No more excuses for being young.
Robin Van Persie - 6
Had barely anything to work with. The supply from midfield was swiftly cut off by Liverpool. One shot was all he had at point blank range, but he fired straight at Reina.
Substitutions
Ignasi Miquel (On 15') - 6
Another debutant for Wenger's side. Looked comfortable on the ball and was disciplined alongside Vermaelen. He was really unfortunate to clear the ball straight at the head of Ramsey, which ended up in the back of the net for Liverpool's first goal.

LONDON: Arsenal hari ini menyatakan ia bersetuju menjual pemain tengah Perancis, Samir Nasri, kepada pesaing Liga Perdana Inggeris, Manchester City.
Menurut kenyataan di laman web the Gunners: “Arsenal boleh mengesahkan ia bersetuju dengan terma perpindahan Samir Nasri ke Manchester City.” Arsenal membenarkan Nasri, 24, pergi ke Manchester untuk menjalani pemeriksaan kesihatan dan ini bermakna beliau tidak akan bermain untuk the Gunners dalam perlawanan timbal balik kedua kelayakan Liga Juara-Juara di Udinese esok. - AFP |

aku mmg minat team arsenal dari dulu. tp skrg agak kecewa dgn si wenger ni.
kadang2 kesian juga kt dia . Asyik mengharap player2 muda sahaja pastu bangga bila menang dengan menyatakan player2 arsenal yg average umur 23 pun boleh menang. Tapi hakikatnya mereka ni tak mampu bersaing. buatlah mcmana sekalipun, jika takde key player yg berumur dan berpengalaman, moral pasukan mmg boleh down. Dan last2, player2 muda tu kena kebas sbb bosan main kt arsenal.
Then, bila player2 utama injured, mulalah pening nak turunkan skuad bila ada game. at the end, boleh kalah walaupun dgn team biasa2. ..sepatutnya reserve/subtitute player pun kena hebat2. sebab tu MU still xnak jual barbatov dan masih simpan owen sbb player2 tu masih ada sengat.
Time nak beli player pun, rasa mcm susah betul arsenal nk dpt player yg betul2 serasi. takde gempak mcm team2 lain yg membeli player2 ternama. Tu tak kisahlah sbb player ternama pun lum tentu bagus. Cuma wenger ni masih menggunakan formula yg sama walaupun dia tau team dh lama tak menang trofi.
Mana zaman kegemilangan arsenal semasa adanya theiry henry, pires,vierra,bergkamp, seaman dll? dan rasanya lawan MU ni, keputusan pun dah leh agak. susahlah wenger kalau mcm ni.mungkin semangat highbury tidak dibawa ke emirates. |
