PETALING JAYA: The management of Sogo Kuala Lumpur announced on Saturday (Oct 17) that an employee of a tenant on the 7th floor of the mall tested positive for Covid-19 on Friday (Oct 16).

The employee has not been present at the mall since Oct 12 and is currently being treated in hospital.

The management said it had taken immediate public safety measures to mitigate any potential risks and had closed the 7th floor for cleaning and sanitisation.

The 7th floor will reopen for business on Sunday (Oct 18) but the tenant's store will be closed until further notice.

"We will continue prevention measures as the safety and wellbeing of workers, and the public is our priority," it said in a Facebook post Saturday.

The mall's management also announced that businesses on the ground floor to the sixth floor of the Sogo Kuala Lumpur were operating as usual.

Yet another burst pipe: Several S'gor districts to experience water cut NATION Saturday, 17 Oct 20207:39 PM MYT PETALING JAYA: Several districts in Selangor will be experiencing unscheduled water cuts due to a burst pipe. Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) said the Sungai Selangor Water Treatment Plant Phase 1 (LRA SSP1) had to be partially stopped to carry out repair works as a pipe channelling treated water is experiencing leakage. "With this, the water supply will be shut at 9pm Saturday (Oct 17) and will cause unscheduled water cuts in some 686 areas in the Petaling, Gombak, Klang/Shah Alam, Kuala Lumpur and Hulu Selangor districts," it said. It also noted that the repair work was expected to be completed on Sunday (Oct18) at 8am. Air Selangor, in a press statement, said water supply was expected to be restored in stages once the repair work was completed from 2pm onwards on Sunday (Oct 18). "Users are encouraged to store enough water before the water supply is cut and to use water prudently," it said. Air Selangor noted that updates on the incident will be updated through its social media platforms as well as its website
