Mara, KRU Academy jalin kerjasama lahirkan modal insan
KUALA LUMPUR 31 Mei - Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) menjalin kerjasama dengan KRU Academy bagi melahirkan modal insan berkemahiran tinggi dalam industri kreatif negara.
Pengerusinya, Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh berkata, pihaknya yakin kerjasama tersebut mampu menggembleng tenaga membentuk pelajar berkualiti mengikut acuan dan kehendak semasa industri berkenaan.
"Sebagai permulaan, Mara dan KRU Academy akan menumpukan kepada tiga program kemahiran jangka pendek iaitu Kemahiran Kesan Khas Visual, Animasi 3D dan Animasi 2D.
"Program ini dijangka bukan sekadar dapat menampung keperluan industri kreatif dalam negara malah sehingga di peringkat Asia dan global," katanya ketika berucap pada majlis Kerjasama Program Industri Kreatif Mara-KRU di Menara Mara di sini hari ini.
Perjanjian kerjasama kedua-dua belah pihak itu ditandatangani oleh Timbalan Ketua Pengarah (Usahawan) Mara, Mohd. Rosdi Ismail dan Pengerusi KRU Academy, Profesor Datuk Dr. Nazaruddin Abdul Jalil.
Hadir sama, Presiden Eksekutif Kumpulan Syarikat KRU, Norman Abdul Halim.
Menurut Idris, beliau juga yakin kerjasama tersebut dapat membantu golongan bumiputera menjana pendapatan tinggi kerana industri berkenaan menawarkan peluang cukup besar.
"Kerjasama dalam pelbagai aspek terutama pendedahan ketika pembelajaran tiga bidang berkenaan bakal memberi impak besar kepada industri kreatif selain mampu memacu ekonomi lebih mapan serta berdaya saing selari dengan keperluan dan aktiviti ekonomi dunia.
"Inisiatif ini merupakan agenda penting dalam pembangunan modal insan negara akan datang terutama bagi anak-anak Melayu dalam memajukan diri, keluarga, masyarakat dan negara," katanya.
Sementara itu, Norman berkata, pihaknya memulakan langkah menawarkan tiga bidang berkenaan kerana menyifatkannya sebagai 'kunci' kepada industri kreatif.
"Daripada tiga bidang ini, saya yakin ia bakal membuka lebih banyak peluang pembelajaran lain melibatkan industri termasuk media dan hiburan.
"Diharapkan dengan adanya program ini, ia mampu memberi pendedahan dan latihan secara berterusan sekali gus berjaya menampung keperluan industri yang kekurangan pakar animasi," jelasnya.
Norman berkata, kesemua kursus ditawarkan direka khas oleh pakar-pakar industri kreatif berteraskan konsep latihan praktikal sejajar dengan perkembangan semasa industri global. |

KUALA LUMPUR: THE local industry is in dire need of creative talent in the animation and visual effects departments.
KRU Academy executive president Norman Abdul Halim said yesterday the film industry had earned some RM500 million last year, but only about RM110 million had been from local films.
“It’s a lucrative business, but we could earn more if we were to employ local talent to do our effects and animation, as currently some local producers are forced to outsource animation.”
Animation has become a part of the current digital lifestyle. Whether in films or advertisements in the cinema, at home or on the street, animation is in every digital media.
“We recognise the need to have specialised talents in the industry. There’s still more room and space to be explored and expand. With that, we will be able to market our products globally and would increase the nation’s exports through the creative industry.”
He said this during the launch of a creative industry collaboration programme between Mara and KRU Academy.
Mara chairman Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh said Mara recognised animation as the new focus of the industry.
“We recognise the need in the industry, and its potential to generate income. It’s a huge opportunity in this ever-growing industry, and we don’t want to be left behind. For example, in one of movies produced by KRU Studios, Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa, they did the shooting in Besut, Terengganu, but you can’t recognise it in the movie. They managed to wipe out any landmark showing that it’s Terengganu. That’s the power of animation, and we want to be apart of this process. This collaboration emphasises on industry-led programmes and we are convinced that KRU will ensure the programmes they offer are in accordance with the need of the local industry.”
Idris said the collaboration would add value to Mara educational institutions through exposure and real industry experiences.
The inaugural course at KRU Academy will commence next month with 150 selected students who pass the screening process.
The course will be a certificate programme and will last six months, with 600 credit hours.
“Mara and KRU will also have short-term courses in industrial training, to produce higher skilled workers and educators.” |
