Siti Aisyah a 'victim', says Indonesian vice president
BY D. KANYAKUMARI

PETALING JAYA: Indonesian vice-president Jusuf Kalla says Siti Aisyah (pic), the second woman detained in connection with the murder of Kim Jong-nam, was merely a victim of manipulation or fraud.

Indonesian portal Detik.com reported that Jusuf, speaking to journalists at his office on Friday, said he was confident that Siti Aisyah was not a Korean agent as she was arrested in Malaysia, adding that if she was truly guilty, she would have gone off the radar completely.

"Why would she go and stay in a hotel in the same city, so close to the airport? It can only mean that she was a victim and manipulated in this situation," he was reported as saying.

Detik.com also reported that a "citizens' protection team" from Indonesia's foreign affairs ministry had arrived in Malaysia to attend to Siti Aisyah 's case.

The team's director, M. Iqbal, said a team was at the prison in Selangor where Siti Aisyah is being held, and have been communicating with the warden and law enforcement officers.

Prior to Siti Aisyah's arrest, a male suspect, Muhammad Farid Jalaluddin, 26, was arrested.

It is believed that he is her boyfriend and it was him who led the authorities to her location.

Siti Aisyah was one of the two women detained in connection with the killing of Jong-nam, the estranged half brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, on Monday.

Suspect in Kim Jong Nam's killing had wad of cash, moved hotels, cut her hair
BY LIZ LEE and KANUPRIYA KAPOOR

KUALA LUMPUR/JAKARTA (Reuters) - The woman with the acronym 'LOL' on her shirt who was arrested this week in connection with the murder of North Korea's Kim Jong Nam stayed in cheap hotels, carried a wad of cash and cut her hair a day before the brazen attack at Kuala Lumpur airport.

According to the receptionist at one of the hotels, a woman who had checked in under the Vietnamese name of Doan Thi Huong on Sunday Feb. 12 left early in the morning on Monday, the day of the assassination, and returned later, showing no signs of stress.

Police believe she was the person who, at around 8:20 a.m. that day, had approached the estranged half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un from behind at the Malaysian capital's budget airline terminal and thrust a deadly poisonous substance into his face.

According to Malaysian media reports, Doan told police she had been duped into what she thought was a harmless practical joke. A second woman who has been detained, an Indonesian national, also thought she was involved in a prank, some media reports said.

However, staff at two hotels in a rundown area near the airport gave details of Doan's movements before the killing that appeared both calm and deliberate.

A private investigator told Reuters her behaviour bore the hallmarks of an intelligence operative.

A STACK OF MONEY, HAIR-CUT

Doan went first to the two-star Qlassic Hotel, checking in on Saturday, Feb. 11. A staff member who asked not to be named said she stayed in the cheapest room, which had no windows.

"I remember she had wanted to extend her stay here, and was ready to pay with a stack of money in her hand," said another member of the Qlassic's staff, a front-desk employee who only identified herself as Sia.

After one night, Doan checked into the CityView Hotel, arriving with a suitcase, a backpack and a large teddy bear, the receptionist told Reuters, declining to be named. She said Doan spoke understandable English.

She borrowed a pair of scissors from the front desk the evening before the attack, and a member of housekeeping staff found hair on the floor and in the waste basket the next day.

"She found the scissors on the room desk. And there was hair strewn on the floor in the room, (Doan) had thrown some in the bin but there was still a mess," the receptionist said.

She said that the next day Doan had on the shirt she was seen wearing in an airport CCTV grab that has earned her the nickname "LOL Girl" in Malaysian media.

Doan was out for much of the morning and, on her return, she seemed "relaxed" and "didn't look angry or worried".

Doan complained about the Wifi in her room and when she was told it couldn't be fixed until the afternoon, she checked out and left.

She then checked into the SkyStar Hotel, also nearby, and left after one night, an employee said.

It is not known where Doan went next. Police said she was arrested on Wednesday morning, about 48 hours after the murder, in the same terminal where Kim Jong Nam was attacked.

"If you ask me, do her movements indicate that she was an intelligence operative, then I would say yes," said a private investigator in Kuala Lumpur who asked not to be named.

"That is how they operate. Change of appearance, cash transactions, no paper trail and constantly on the move."

SECOND WOMAN FROM A JAKARTA SLUM

The Indonesian woman who was arrested on Thursday, Siti Aishah, had lived a quiet life in a slum district of Jakarta before going to find work in Malaysia, residents in the western neighbourhood of the Indonesian capital said.

According to Malaysian media reports, she stood in front of Kim to distract him while her accomplice approached from behind.

In Jakarta, Aishah had worked for a time in the tailoring business in the house of her ex-husband's family, sewing clothes by hand, former neighbours in the Tambora district said.

"I can't believe the news. Her background was very simple," said community leader R. Yusri.

The couple moved to Malaysia several years ago but separated in 2012. Aishah's former father-in-law said she had returned to Jakarta on Jan. 28 to visit her seven-year-old son. She had looked thinner than usual and had a cough.

The streets in Tambora district are too narrow for cars to pass through. A tangle of washing lines hangs above small concrete and makeshift homes, many housing small businesses or selling clothes and food.

Ida Anisafitri, a neighbour, said Aishah kept a low profile when she visited there.

"We would see her briefly with the child and then she would go back inside the house," Anisafitri said, as a loudspeaker from a nearby mosque sounded with the call to prayer.

Mystery man behind recruitment of female suspects in Jong-nam's murder

Female suspects Doan (left) and Siti Aishah.

PETALING JAYA: The two women suspected to have murdered North Korean Kim Jong-nam were allegedly "recruited" by a mysterious man to carry out the deadly task as early as three months ago.

According to a report by China Press, both Siti Aishah, 25, and Doan Thi Huong, 29, were not North Korean "special agents, but were possibly duped by a spy ring to commit the assassination.

Indonesian national Siti Aishah was arrested at 2am on Thursday, while Doan, who holds a Vietnamese passport, was arrested a day earlier.

China Press reported that the mystery man, believed to be a spy, got to know Doan about three months ago in Malaysia, who eventually became his escort.

The mystery man even took her on several overseas trips, including on one to Vietnam, where they visited her hometown and another trip to South Korea.

China Press reported the mystery man then introduced Doan to the four men still wanted by the police in connection with the killing.

It reported that the mystery man got to know Siti Aishah about a month ago, but only introduced the two women to each other recently when he told them about a "prank " he wanted them to pull off.

The two women have claimed that they had no idea that it would lead to trouble as they thought it was only supposed to be a filming of the prank being carried out.

They apparently rehearsed the "spoof" many times and were able to carry out the process proficiently.

The report also said that Siti Aishah was tasked with using a handkerchief to cover Jong-nam's face while Doan administered an injection.

China Press reported that Siti Aishah claimed she was paid US$100 (RM445) to pull off the "prank".

Jong-nam, 45, was killed by two women who splashed his face with a chemical at the KLIA2 departure hall at about 9am on Monday as he was about to leave for Macau.

Assassination: Malaysia detains two women, man

KUALA LUMPUR - Malaysia has detained a second woman in connection with the murder of Kim Jong Nam, the half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, the Malaysian inspector general of police (IGP) said Thursday.

IGP Khalid Abu Bakar said in a statement that the authorities "positively identified" the woman from CCTV footage at the airport. She was alone and carrying an Indonesian passport at the time of the arrest, he added. Based on her personal identification details, the suspect is 25-year-old Siti Aishah.

A 26-year-old Malaysian man, identified as her boyfriend, Muhammad Farid Jalaluddin, was also arrested to assist in investigations, police said in a statement at 7.30pm on Thursday.

Indonesia said later Thursday that based on provisional data, Siti Aishah appeared to be an Indonesian citizen.

The Indonesian embassy has requested consular access so it can provide legal assistance.

Malaysian police on Wednesday detained a 28-year-old woman holding a Vietnamese passport and said they were looking for a "few" other foreign suspects in connection with the apparent assassination.

The 28-year-old suspect was carrying papers identifying her as a Vietnamese national, Doan Thi Huong.

The two women struck on Monday as Kim Jong Nam was readying to board a flight to Macau where he has spent many years in exile, South Korea's spy chief Lee Byung-Ho has said, pointing the finger of blame at the North.

Malaysian police said Kim, a portly 45-year-old with a playboy reputation, was walking through the departure hall when he was attacked.

CCTV images that emerged in Malaysian media, purportedly of one of the suspects, showed an Asian woman wearing a white top with the letters "LOL" emblazoned on the front.

Kim’s body was being held at Kuala Lumpur Hospital following an autopsy, the results of which have not yet been released.

IGP Khalid confirmed on Thursday that Malaysia had rejected a request by the North Korean embassy to release the body to them without a postmortem examination. A senior government source told Channel NewsAsia the North Korean embassy approached Malaysian authorities on Monday, asking for the body, and indicating they wanted it cremated immediately without a postmortem.

North Korean embassy officials were seen visiting the hospital's forensics department in a diplomatic vehicle on Wednesday afternoon and again overnight.

Malaysia has not officially confirmed that the body belongs to Kim Jong Nam, despite South Korean reports saying that fingerprints have proven this to be the case.

pakcik heshe sendiri pun heshe boleh jah recall seluruh leluhur balik then bunuh semua katanya
dlm satu artikel kokesen, konsep hukuman kat sana up to 3 generations kena hukum kalau sorang buat hal sekalipun.

so anak2 bini si arwah ini pun most likely kena target jua untuk hapuskan seluruh keturunan gitu.
yang anak bini kat macau dah under police protection
