Guan Eng says feared for his life after ride in faulty PWD car
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 22 — Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said today he had to hold on to the passenger door while being chauffeured in a car rented from the Public Works Department (JKR) as the door was faulty and could not close properly.
Lim took to Twitter to vent his frustration and uploaded pictures of said vehicle, a Proton Executive. He said he had to hold on to the faulty car door for the entire duration of his 50-minute ride from Subang Airport to Istana Negara to attend the Conference of Rulers. View image on Twitter

The Penang CM later told Malaysiakini that the vehicle was rented from the PWD at a rate of RM200 a day, and that PWD has since arranged for a replacement. “I was clinging for dear life. I was holding on to the door and was afraid of being flung out. “I could have rented a private car but wanted to support the federal government,” he reportedly said.
